This 2P? Not at all - the story we will see in the raid, involving these characters, is specific to the universe of FFXIV and canon to the universe of FFXIV. We will certainly see plenty of elements inspired by Nier Automata and its story, but they almost certainly won't be connected in a narrative or canon sense (like 99.9% certain...I won't say 100% because who knows with Yoko Taro, lol).

Our version will basically be "What if Nier Automata type stuff happened in the XIV universe, what would that involve?" rather than a spin-off adventure involving any of the characters from the actual Nier Automata.

Considering the implications and possibilities from the [E]nding of Automata, this is very likely to be at least tied to it. They've promised the story itself does not require knowledge of Automata prior, but that by no means implies it won't be tied into the canon of the Drakenier universe. Considering who it looked like 2P was fighting at the end of the trailer... well.

Yoko Taro tends to tie stuff together even if it otherwise shouldn't or couldn't be (coughs at multiple endings in Drakengard 3). This will be no different, and I look forward to how it will tie off from Automata's [E]nd.
