Most jobs don't change significantly each expansion, and that's a good thing if you enjoy how it plays already. When they rework the playstyle of a job it's either a hit or miss, MCH 5.0 was a hit meanwhile SMN 5.0 is a miss.

That said, I do think RDM didn't really gain that much in 5.0. Aside from the complementary AoEs, they get 3 new attacks, 2 being optional and doesn't add much in gameplay. I think it could be more than that, like a third tier of proc'd attack spells that are strong since RDM is lacking damage, and acts as a more reliable mobility tool since RDM does have bad mobility. It sounds like it's not much but it would help RDM's issues a lot. RDM can use more support utility too since I do see potential for it as a support DPS. The kind of support utility that doesn't interrupt damage by wasting gcds.
