    Machinist optimizaiton

Good morn to you all!! I really like several jobs I play in FFXIV and one of them is the Machinist. I like to optimize my jobs and do the best I can with them. So I have a question for all you Machinists out there. When do YOU use your OGC abilities, Ricochet and Gauss? I've found I love using them between my 1-2-3 combo. It makes for constant action and a smooth rotation.. If I'm not using Air Anchor or Drill or anything else, my go to is Split shot/Gauss/Slug shot/Ricochet/Clean shot (or the upper end heated versions of these). With a 5 ability rotation and using all other CD's as they come up ready to use, I find I'm in constant action. Once all 3 charges are used of both I'll Hypercharge and use heated blasts to regenerate the Gauss and Ricochet, preferably using a wildfire with it. I've been wondering is I should be hypercharging at 1 charge each so I can also weave them into my Heated Blasts for a more fluid rotation, and for wildfire to hit harder. Another question,.. is it better to use reassemble with Air Anchor or Drill, or does it make a difference? they are both the same potency, I just wondered if one is more preferrable to use over the other with reassemble.

Thank you for all your input!!

You should generally use Gauss Round and Ricochet charges
    1. During raid buff windows.
    2. To avoid overcapping before and during Hypercharge.

It doesn't matter if you Reassemble Drill or Air Anchor, but usually you pair it with Drill because of the matching recast timer.

This and much more about optimization can be found on The Balance 5.X Machinist Guide.
