Gungnir World Chat!

Bored as I often am at work tonight, while nothing interesting going on at the forums, I toyed around with the idea of having a World Chat interface of some sort. The following is what I've come up with thus far:

The site isn't in its final form, as I have no access to GIMP or Photoshop at work. And obviously, the chat panes are "broken for the time being", but I expect that to be rectified soon enough due to the host site's restrictions on new accounts.

(Edit: I got home and looked at it in Chrome and the site's panes are functioning normally. Apparently they are broken in IE for now.)

The function of the site is to provide the entire server an online outlet with which to communicate in real-time.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

If you could find someone to Moderate the site, it literally took me just 3hrs. (at work) to put it together. If you were to C&P the source code, it would take about 30min.

I wanted to implement an in-game WorldChat linkshell that everyone would be welcome to. Do players on Mysidia or Istory already have something like that setup that they'll be bringing to Gungnir or will we need to start fresh? I've no problem taking the lead on that after mergers and getting pearls to as many LS leaders to distribute to their members as possible.

Additionally, a LFP linkpearl would also be useful in helping people make parties for different things. Basically my idea for it is to use linkshells to emulate chat channels like there are in other mmos.

That idea would be great, if individual Linkshells didn't cap at 150 or whatever the number is. Hardly enough to accommodate an entire server. If this were a real possibility, I wouldn't have even entertained this idea, really.

There have been many all-inclusive shells out there that have come and gone since launch. At least with this system, it's impartial to the game's restrictions, and although moderately cumbersome to use, is totally membership cap-free. They will soon be implementing a party-flag feature similar to what we had in FFXI (icon beside your name).

Grey we've tried a similar idea of yours using Mysidia Community linkshell, but with the interface for linkshells, it just didn't work too well =( I'd love something like this to actually work though!

My wife said she tried to view it at work on Chrome today and it wasn't working. Panes are still showing blocked. Should release in a couple of days after the probation period is up. I don't know why I'm able to see it and she isn't.
