Does a new character on the legacy account still get the tattoo or does it only show up on character created in 1.0.

Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
Confirmed it is only for characters created in 1.0 which are all collectively called legacy characters and they all have the tattoo. I have characters I created but didn't touch during 1.0 and they all have the tattoo. I also have several characters I have created in 2.0+ and none of them have the tattoo.

That sucks. It should been able to be used on new characters to. Still trying figure out why this character doesn't have it since was created in 1.0.

I had 2 char in 1.0, one got the mark(this char) and the other did not get the mark

Same here my lowest level one that deleted had the tattoo and this didn't get it.

You only need to have the character created in v 1.0 to get the tattoo.
Also there is a text command to enable/disable the tattoo.
/legacymark [subcommand]
on Show mark.
off Hide mark.

That's not what the Legacy Mark represents though: it's to show a character that was from that earlier game, not show the player as having been playing since then. (Also the Legacy Chocobo that was gained in a different way also has the Legacy Mark on it's beak, as do any retainers you may have hired back in 1.0 and rehired after starting ARR with a 1.0 character - I discovered this last point on my own retainer who I created in 1.0 when the Venture system was added and I changed my retainer's gear to hyur starting armour, and lo and behold, there was the Legacy Mark on her upper back).
If you have a 1.0 character that you transferred into ARR and the Legacy Mark is not showing for them (even after using the /lmark command), try raising it as a bug report with SE here on the forum as I recall during the Beta test there were a few cases of players with 1.0 characters whose Legacy Marks were not showing due to a bug, and I'm not sure if the problem ever was fixed. So it's worth a try putting it in as a bug report.
