Excuses - best/worst you've heard in game

Never been quite sure why players just can't own up to their mistakes. Even if some outside source screwed with your gameplay, it's still your fault, you just don't have any control over the situation that makes it so. It is actually not a good sign when players make excuses, because it shows that they are so self conscious about what others will think that they will be quick to point the finger any anyone and anything other than themselves. It's a symptom of toxicity within a given community.

With that out of the way, they can be amusing if they are clever. The impression I get from these players is that they acknowledge that they screwed up, and try to make a joke about it to quickly diffuse any ill thoughts. This is actually pretty rare though because of what I spoke about before. It's actually really rare that a player will admit to their own faults in general.

Worry not, I still want to contribute to the thread. The one that cracked me up the most was a SCH who said, "Did I doooooooo thaaaaaat!?" then used the spectacles emote. A few of those who caught the reference immediately said, "YES!!" So freakin hilarious

Sounds like reply from a blissful ignorant teenager or bachelor/single who never had any kind of private responsibility or experience in that area. This isn't binary where the only answers are 1 or 0.

To be fair, my uncle actually did that once! but rather his own garden and a few years ago but.. it was a thing.



as myself being a pet owner of two cats and a dog, yeah... you can't predict what they up to. My cat can jump in front of the screen and block my view real quick. So if I say my cat did xy... trust me, it's the truth.
Otherwise I either apologize for my mistake or, depending on the situation, make a joke like
when I get ressed pretty quick "No one saw that!"
or "I uh hm... checking the floor up!" and "am I doing drg right?"
as examples!

One time while running a dungeon one of the screws came out of the Coleman chair I would sit in while playing and I went crashing to the floor. Suffice it to say I told the party. They were really nice about it and waited while I fixed it. ^_^ but yeah it was oh sh*t my chair broke brb

My spouse and I actually had to pause a run once because there was a pizza on fire. My husband had left it in the oven (in the box) and didn't tell anyone. Daughter comes home from work, goes to make herself dinner .... There was so much screaming and swearing and it was overall funny. Probably not to the people we were running a dungeon with though.

I did have to go afk once due to an earthquake, not sure if the party believed me, though.

My cat would insist that she sits on my mouse/hand while I play, and gently nudging her would make her plant her feet and growl, she got nicknamed "little Honda" by my FC at the time, due to the sound of her growl.
