    I don't understand this. Do they think 24 player is driving people away? Even people that prefer 72 understand the importance of 24. Are there people who aren't playing because of the chance of getting a 24? If there is such a person maybe add a "wait for 72 player" option, and let those sit forever in the middle of the night. As said, with Garo and the current moogle tomestones ending, and this, there will be a huge drop in participation when 5.1 goes live, especially in off hours. I assume there will be another moogle event eventually.

    yup as soon as tomes are gone and the week one thrill of 'wow look a new thingy!' this mode will be as dead as it's always been in the past.

    If they were willing to put in a mmr system for 24 mans that paired people in a 4 man party against other people in a 4 man party, this would be fine and probably fine for the forseeable future.

    I am one such person who does not like 24 player frontlines, and I'd imagine the people I see duck or leave are likewise. I imagine a lot of people actually don't want to even try queueing at bad hours since yeah as even someone who loves PvP I actually rather not have had that at all. The maps are not at all designed for 24 players and the objectives are only sometimes properly adjusted. Like, for example, right now they might lower the point count needed, yet still have ice take forever to kill which feels awful.

    A cost-effective solution would be to take the assets they have and create smaller maps with the with properly adjusted objectives and proper modifiers. Maybe if they did that 24 player FL wouldn't feel as awful but as it stands, it is not my ideal FL experience and I wouldn't blame someone for missing 72 player FL as it was intended because they didn't want to risk it. A lot of us love the chaos and unfairness and volatility of the real thing and if we wanted a more fair and organized experience we would play The Feast.

    Of course having a smaller scale option is nice for the graveyard hours, though I would rather that experience be properly adjusted. Better yet, fix RW and use that when there are less players. As it stands, I would love if the game told me this would happen so I could have just queued for The Feast instead, something much better tailored to smaller numbers.

    24-mans highlighted 2 problems...the bonuses for Battle High/Fever, and how powerful a single 8-man premade can be. That premade wipes both groups in the beginning due to overly aggressive play (which most PvP players aren't used to that early in a match), and then has enough High/Fever to just steamroll the rest of the match. 20/40% damage boost with no downsides is ridiculous in 24-man Frontlines. I admit I'm a bit saddened by them removing 24-man instead of capping things to just Battle High in 24-man to reduce a lot of the problems (which along with just 4-man premades would have made 24-man very bearable). I guess they prefer to cover up the problem instead of fixing it.

    The skill floor and ceiling are already quite low which makes PvP accessible. Downside to this is that it's hard to make an impact as a player, cutting out the 24-man doesn't help with that at all.

Of those, I've seen aggressive play early from maybe 20 matches, usually from premades getting the Battle High/Fever quickly so they can rule the map the rest of the match. All the other matches people will play cautiously and avoid going all in early on(because nobody knows whether others will follow).

    I think he "lol xD" you because it's normal in pvp to pvp. Ofc premades have advantages, but the last months people actively were meeting up and making new friends and creating linkshells for premades. It was fun, even for casuals pvp players. Just 4 is a bit small for such "community building". Maybe the idea of having 2x4players in 24 was just too weird for them. The new battle high system which is similar to soaring in rival wings might need that small grp size, I hope it's not the reason and their excuse for it.
