Modding for Roleplay, legal or not?

I've been looking a lot of aesthetic mods for the last month or so, and looking how big the community is and how simple is for people to install them, videos and all that I was wondering, is it legal?

I've been thinking about using a few like the one that change the color of the Au ra scales to white, but been afraid of getting a ban or having to stop uploading videos because of it.

It's not allowed as far as I know.
Certainly uploading images or vids using them is very risky.
On the other hand parsers are also against tos, so.......

That's the thing, I've seen a lot of videos (and streamings) of people promoting mods, parsers, and even giving the download link so that's why I'm confused

It's more a case of its not allowed but people do it anyway and don't get caught. It is something that is difficult to get caught doing unless you tell SE you're doing it. I don't think they really go after people for it, at least I've never heard of anybody getting banned. Though always better to play safe IMO, but of course it's your prerogative of what you do.

The only exception I am aware of is that they don't mind reshade, a GM posted about it a while back with their stance on it.

it's not like the GM's/devs are going to be going around social media and banning every modder out there.

in terms of ACT/parsing - having it show up in VOD's is fine. as long as you do not use it to harass others in game and in chat you're fine.

in terms of visual mods - just don't link your social media accounts in your search info in game. if people see it and follow those links to see your mods they can report you for it because you "advertised" it in game.

It's technically not allowed, but unless you make a huge deal out of it, they're unlikely to care.

As long as you're not using mods to cheat the game, of course, but that's outside the scope of the original question.

So long as you don't use any mod or parser or 3rd party whatever to either give yourself an unfair advantage or to harass someone, SE typically looks the other way. They are technically illegal, but so long as you aren't being a jerk about it, they typically won't enforce that legality.

Make SCH great again! Seriously though, we just want our class to be fun and engaging again, not OP, is that too much to ask for?

It is illegal to mod your game and you will get ban, but only if you get caught or reported, so don’t go bragging about modding your game or screenshots of your character name.

They barely do anything about RMT/Bots, i highly doubt that they gonna ban you or even warn you for texture modding.

Much like 3rd party applications like ACT, mods are a very "don't talk about it." zone. They're against the ToS, so if you talk about it in-game and someone were to report you, you could end up in front of a GM for having admitted to modifying your client.
So basically, don't talk about mods in-game, don't share any modded screenshots you take in game, and not much will befall you.

As far as modding for roleplay reasons, keep in mind that mods are client side only so anything you mod will look normal to others.
