The real question is, how is such an ignorant person such as you real? It's not about the pixels, it's about the people. MMOs are heavily reliant on their players working together.

Not everyone can endure getting yelled at, cursed at, or otherwise verbally abused until it starts to take its mental toll. Now stfu forever, you never have anything meaningful to say

ahahahahahhahaha the people with """anxiety""" portray themselves as conflict-averse and say they can't endure getting yelled at or cursed at and then write stuff like

Your lack of understanding of anxiety is demonstrable. You are attempting to rationalise something that is, by it's very nature, irrational.

However, it's also evident that you're attention seeking and have an inexplicable desire to trigger someone/anyone.

Yeah he's just proving my point, honestly.

As for you, Titan, I'm "conflict averse" because I don't get on FFXIV to deal with conflict or hostility. I play FFXIV to relax and get away from life's stresses. And I'm not the only person who does. Video game or not, it's meant to be an enjoyable experience for everyone but unfortunately we have people like you (and your gajillion alts) who like to bring others down for no reason. On that note, I can say with confidence that those of us who suffer from anxiety along with other disabilities aren't faking it. So unless you can provide proof to back up your bold claims about people you don't even know, stfu forever.

I can relate! I started out as a healer in WoW (White Priest). I got to endgame and started raiding with my guild, and soon found that there was always a better, more on-the-ball healer in our raids. I'd see someone take damage, and I'd start to cast a heal, and I'd finish right after the other healer got him back up to full HP. I just couldn't contribute, and I came to realize I just wasn't cut out to heal in endgame content.

Here in FF14, though, healing is much easier and less stressful. You tend to spend more time DPSing than healing. I haven't tried endgame content as a healer here yet, but even if I have that same experience of my heals always getting sniped by the other healer, at least I'll still be contributing DPS. I can still put up shields. I'll still be doing something for the raid, unlike in WoW where just restoring HP requires your full attention and some other guy beats you to it every time.

I never really tanked in WoW (although I did do the occasional bit of off-tanking as a DPS Death Knight, and enjoyed that), but I have done some low-level dungeon tanking in FF14, and that was also much less stressful than I'd expected. In WoW, tanking and healing are jobs, duties, obligations. You're there to do one thing, and you need to be focused on just doing that at all times, or a wipe will occur. But here in FF14, in most content, tanks and healers are basically DPS with some additional responsibilities on the side. To quote some old recruitment ads for the US Navy, "It's not just a job. It's an adventure."

This may well change in endgame raids where everyone needs to be on top of his game at all times. But if you have any interest in trying out tanking or healing while going through the MSQ, even if you're worried about sucking at it, give it a try! You might just enjoy it and be good at it!

We have a good community, here. If something goes wrong and you have a wipe, people generally don't get mad about it. As the late, great Aaliyah sang, "If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. Dust yourself off and try again, try again." That has pretty much been the attitude of everyone I've run with in MSQ dungeons. Look at the chat window and see if someone says something like, "When the boss does X, we need to do Y," and then give that a try. It's usually good advice.

Getting all the WoW players with PTSD, mix in a bunch of new MMO players, provide no real ramp-up to difficult content, avoid teaching mechanics, be 300 hours of pure visual novel, the vets then tell their WoW horror stories.. Put that in a slow cooker, and over time that's how you get yourself a mentally unstable soup of a community.

I think we'd be better off with more engaging and difficult Guildhests, fix the ilvl jank, provide more combat opportunities, and even tutorials in the actual MSQ.

WoW players don't have "PTSD." Most of them who couldn't handle the toxic endgame community quit shortly after maxxing out.

Yes, the community at the endgame was horrific to people. Abuse was frequent in a decent number of parties/raid groups in end game content and they had little patience for anyone who was learning, or caused a wipe. Your raid members were often pitted against you as you competed with them to get gear in raids, prior to personal loot. There was no hall of the novice, you learned your class by actually playing it (or looking it up on icey veins), and listening to the few people in your guild/parties that weren't completely toxic. Lets not even talk about mechanics, we have big orange "DONT STAND HERE" blobs on the floor. That did not exist in WoW, and even though you could cheat mechanics with DBM its still much more difficult than FFXIV. We are also spared the indignity of having to walk back to the instance/raid from a graveyard. and waste 20min between deaths, and reapply costly consumables and repairs.

If anything I'd argue that the few of us WoW veterans are more geared than anyone to help people overcome anxiety of playing any role having endured what WoW threw at us for years.
