How to set up abilities from other jobs?

I am -totally- new to FF, a friend encouraged me to play so this is going to be hard for me to explain but I am under the impression from reading online that you can somehow move your abilities from one class to the action bars of another class.

Example: As a botanist I have stealth. Can I somehow move the stealth spell to my spell bar for being a Pugilist? Or move my Cure to that bar?

There are restrictions on what you can put where, DoLand jobs can only use DoLand stuff, DoHand stuff gets DoHand stuff. DoWar and DoMagic can use -some- of the abilities of either DoW/DoM and you can refer to each individual skill to see if it can be equipped by something else. It will say something like Requires: "............" If it requires Conjury then you can only use it on Conjurer, if it requires DoW/DoM then you can use it on any of them, and so on.

Goto that site. In the upper right center of the screen put your mouse over abilities, then you chose the class or its corisponding job, and it will offer you a list of all the abilities for said class/job and in the discription for the abilities it also list which onces are class exclusive and which ones can be cross classed.

While there, explore the site, its very usefull for nearly everything from ability info, to crafting recipes, to armor list, to a mob map for XP camps etc.

Tis' as others have said, you will not be able to cross a Disciple of Land ability with a Disciple of War or Magic. (and vice versa).

Interface wise, if you press Home to open the Main Menu, the Actions & Traits choice.



On the left hand side for Additional Actions you will other class icons. Any actions you have unlocked will be visible when you select that class. And as Peptaru and Coglin have provided, some actions are exclusive to a class and others are available to other classes.
