Blah Blah ContinuationThe main thing I don’t like about GNB is that there’s no kind of trigger mechanic, what’s the point of it being a gunblade when it lacks the only defining feature of a gunblade? I was hoping there would be some kind of renzokuken job gauge mechanic where we’d activate a combo and have to press the button in time with the gauge to score critical hits and get a different finishing move based on how many hits we got or something.
Timing? With this games servers? With this games server delay? On a tank?
....
Can i have what this guy is smoking, please?

(Ignore the levels on my character card, the tool i used to make it hasn't been updated for 4.0)
So, basically, the most iconic part of Gunblades is something that isn't the least bit a tank type mechanic.
I can't help but once again feel like they cheated by making the most wanted class a tank just to tweak tank distribution.
Who said that trigger mechanic should be iconic thing for the gunbreaker?
Imho this job should be a mix of melee and ranged combat and be a DPS job instead like redmage.
And Samurai should be a tank.
But whatever. :x
This gunblade cannot fire projectiles. Garlean gunblade can, and is still not used. It would be perfect melee/ranged hybrid dps.
GNB only needs fixed sound effects atm.
Uhhhh....the fact that GNB is DIRECTLY based on FFVIII gunblades....where the trigger mechanic was the main point of playing as Squall??
Ranged has no place in a FF gunblade despite the name, the original gunblades used the cartridges to vibrate the blade and increase cutting power.
It's why Garleans kept dissing your "old" gunblades in the job quests, and Yoshida himself went on a mini rant about Garlean gunblades that shoot not being the true FF gunblades and made GNB specifically to show the Squall-style gunblade is better.
Are we going to forget that FF13 is a thing? There's a reason why the ranged attack for GNB is called "Lightning Shot" (Because Lightning's gunblade was both a gun and a blade, and could do ranged attacks).
Uh... Thunder Barret (Lightning Shot's Japanese name) is one of Squall ranged attacks in the Dissidia games.
Cool. This is still based directly on Squall's gunblade which has no bullets, not Light's. Also the US version does not equal the original translated skills as seen in the below quote...
The original attack names are all Dissidia and FFVIII attacks for...yep, Squall and Seifer.
Yoshida outright said he doesn't consider gunblades that shoot to be the genuine article so I can safely assume Lightning's version is included in that. And since he's the guy heading up the game...yeah.
