    Only in the USA.
Japan, Europe, and every other supported region are waiting for Nintendo to suffer (another) class-action lawsuit so Nintendo can fix their defective joy cons for free.

There's no such thing as PS4 limits, if anything the limitations are coming from low grade PCs which a good chunk of people play on. Not everyone is playing on high end spec PCs or even PS4s. Just saying, there's alot limiting the game.. the PS4 isn't one of them. The switch.... I dunno... I rather they not open that can of worms tho. While I can say the PS4 isn't holding us back.. I think the switch would.

Oh yes there's PS4 limitations, that CPU is a netbook lump from circa 2011. There's no getting around the fact it's a serious limitation, even a low spec PC easily twice as powerful in the CPU department. In addition SE make absolutely no guarantees on PC performance, whereas PS4 performance must meet a minimum standard. Now that said mt SO plays on a PS4 Pro, and visually it's very close to PC on Max, but even with both machines on wired connections I always port in first to everything, and rarely get any dropped frames in populated areas. FWIW I'm on an older i5 with a GTX1080 so I'm not representative of the low spec PC group

Then your last point doesn't do anything. Also I am on a PS4 pro and I load faster then all my PC friends all the time. I also have gigabit download speeds and plus 300 on upload so that's a factor too. Point being the PS4 is not holding XIV back from anything. The ps3 did with it's limited ram, but there is no such issue with the PS4 or Pro. Matter of fact.. YP even said himself if anything was limiting them it was low grade PCs. NOT any PS4. I'm not saying the Playstation is BETTER then any PC as that's false and not the debate at hand in this topic. But I AM saying with all the things limiting this game.. the PS4 is not one of them.

If anything... the actual thing limiting XIV is it's craptastic engine that's on life support. THAT is the real factor here as it effects EVERYBODY on every platform. :c

See there now yer last point? That's the real one, and probably the biggest reason the game is so CPU intensive. As for the rest I'm really not sure how the PC player base is spread out in terms of machine spec. Most erryone I know is on some midrange quad core and a GTX1060 or higher (desktop). Don know too many laptop players but in the ones I do know it's likely the fact they're on WiFi. And to be fair I'm still very impressed with how well the PS4 runs any game. I think SE in particular has done very well with which graphical effects to implement/leave out. The only thing I see lacking comparing the two side by side is shadows, LOD and some lighting effects (lets ignore framerate since it's not even an issue in an MMO). And by lacking I mean lower resolution shadows, and it does not appear to use SSAO to the same level and really that's not a bad thing. FF14's implementation sucks.

Ffxiv is cpu intensive like all mmos, because of the number of player characters on screen at a time, especially in crowded areas. You can actually see your cpu utilization drop in low pop areas like your house, inn room, and spike in places with hunts, eureka, and limsa

That is less an engine limitation and more a needing to render a hundred or so characters. The total war games are also quite cpu intensive, also because of the number of characters on screen.

An ssd makes all the difference on load times.

As for low spec pcs being twice as powerful. Sure maybe desktops. However, a very large portion of the playerbase plays the game on $3-400 laptops with no dedicated gpu. They get 15-25 fps on low settings. This is far worse than a PS4.

Yes, but are you able to correlate low framerates to a CPU or GPU bottleneck? It matters. The PS4 is weak AF in CPU but the GPU is lower midrange, ie.well enough to run the game at decent frame rates. Knowing how each component factors in to system limitations is important, moreso if yer on PC.
