Is the achievement certificates system abandoned?

This sounded like a good idea on paper and was sold as a replacement to veteran rewards - the more achievement points you get, the more goodies you get.

Yet here I am with everything purchased and 250 points to spare, and this hasn't been updated in what feels like forever. At the same time it seems like there was an uptick in Mogstation items.

This feels like a missed opportunity - this would be a great way to incentivize hunting achievements.

Do you think this will ever be updated again?

They added in the ribbon item with 5.0, but the last big update they did was for the Claw mount, and Beyond Redemption orchestrion roll.

So we'll keep getting updates but not sure what kind of stuff we will get for them. I do expect Ultimate songs to be put on for exchange if UCoB is any idea.

I always figured seasonal event achievements should unlock purchasing their respective rewards from this system, but I guess that would cut into their precious Mogstation revenue stream... Although are fireworks sold on the Mogstation? Achievement points for fireworks seems like a bit of a no-brainer to me, given they're typically for celebrating...

Really though, the achievement system could do with a bit of an overhaul IMO. Very few actually seem like achievements, rather they're just "Do the thing X times". Oddly enough I think Blue Mage offered some of the better achievements, though even that was just what, three challenge achievements?

The BLU achievements felt a lot more like the 1.0 dungeon achievements where you had to beat them in a specific way, abnormal from what you'd normally do.
I would really enjoy more tasks like this, rather than the ultra-grind achievements we get a lot of.

as for replacing veteran rewards....

i remember when they started with the Falcon mount (the tube shaped air ship mount) and I thought they would continue down that path of "sub for 90 days, get this reward" but that died quickly. And the things they added to the achievements trade-ins has been really lackluster.

so many people were confused by the requirements of the falcon sub campaign that i don't think they want to go down that road again.

I'd like to see an update to this. I already had a lot of the veteran rewards when I came back and there wasn't much new to get since then.

Personally I'd love it if we could purchase the old event rewards here, assuming we have done it on the account previously. Like if someone is coming to the game for the first time and decides they want event cosmetics from 2017 they can get it in the Mog Station, but if I create a new alt I'd like to be able to buy it with achievement certificates instead, considering I have already earned the rewards on this account.

Are there any consumables? I thought there were deliberately only on-use or otherwise recoverable purchases since there is a hard cap on how many certificates you can earn in the game (even if it's outrageously high compared to the available rewards).

Would love for this as I would like to use some alts for specific glamour shots, but lacking some of the older event gear makes it annoying. Don't really want to spend extra money on alts just for glamour when my main earned the item.

I don't know why they didn't just make a simple login rewards system, like what FFXI has.
