Noob gear questions

So I'm relatively new to the FFXIV realm. My friends and I have noticed a few things that arent normal to other MMOs I'm used to. I've noticed alot of ways to make some money but my biggest confusion is the market board. From my understanding pink's are never tradable which just leaves blues and greens. Which I've seen being sold in market (weapons with effects ect.). Even some of the special weapons like the new Moogle event wep is being sold. Guess over all my question is how are these normally non tradable items becoming tradable? Or more accurately how are ppl getting tradable items to be sold on the market place?

I always forget that people sometimes look at the colour tier of a weapon. Generally speaking you can only sell white or green gear. Some exceptions apply.
However there are crafted versions of many trial earned weapons that give them additional particle effects and such.

The weapons offered at this event are market prohibited. Which ones specifically do you see?

You wouldn't have any way of knowing this, being new and all, but the "new Moogle event weapons" are all very old equipment. And yeah, as pointed out, all are market prohibited, so anything you've seen for sale has likely been crafted variations.

If a piece of gear is tradable, then the odds are strong that its crafted. And while most crafted gear is "white", there are some select recipes that use the green or blue background(they tend to be harder to craft and come from special recipe books). Ive never seen a pink(aetherial) or purple(relic) crafted item. So most of the people getting those things are making them. Sometimes a retainer will bring back a random crafted item from a quick exploration venture, so some of them come from there too. But they arent getting untradable items and somehow turning them tradable, theyre making tradable items that anyone with the right recipe books and mats can make. I also looked at the item list for the moogle event to see if i forgot anything, and nothing there should be tradable. So which specific items did you have a question regarding?
