    Combat Dummy request

I would love it if we had combat dummies that scaled to your level. Cottages can only have 1 dummy on the lot which means it's usually level 80.

In before people say, "Get a bigger house or just put a lower dummy out there"

My request is a want... it's not a need. It's merely something I'd love to see. Combat dummies that scale from level 1 to 80 so that anyone can train on it.

Does this game have any example of dynamic (rather than solely instance-based) scaling? I can't think of any.

This isn't the most important use I'd think of for that, since there's no advantage to it except making the HP seem more reasonable for a (dungeon) mob of your level, but it's probably the simplest. Can't see why not? Though, I see no reason to divert resources just for this -- it'd just be a thing to add if we were already using dynamic scaling elsewhere.

Edit: Though, it'd make it feel all the more important for combat dummies to let you end your combat with them more easily...

All you need is a level 1 dummy anyway. The old leveled dummies are from a time when accuracy was a thing.

Dummy level doesn't matter at all anymore.

Are there still execute-style abilities or other abilities that require the enemy's hp to decrease? If there is no such ability, why not just have 1 type of dummy with guaranteed hits at all levels and infinite hp?

I think the problem with lower level dummy now is that it can die too quickly and there is some delay before it fills its HP back up, so that might cause a problem.

I dont think thats the case anymore. My FC only has low level dummies, and it hasn't caused any issues for us.

I'm pretty sure they do just have infinite HP now, and there are no more low hp attacks.

I haven't had any issues with that using a level 60 dummy at my house. It never dies, it just reaches 1 HP then refreshes to full. Combat is never interrupted and debuffs aren't lost.

That's good then if that's the case. That wasn't my experience in the past, but I could remember it incorrectly.

Get a level 1 dummy. There's a crafted one called Oriental Striking Dummy that shouldn't be too hard to get.

Also, this is directly from the item description for all dummies: "※Up to three dummies may be placed in a single estate, regardless of type.". Not sure why you can't place more than one.

Gonna agree with everyone else saying get a low level dummy. If you're looking for a dummy "anyone can train on," level 1 dummy serves that purpose. Any higher level dummy will do exactly the same thing, except anyone lower level than the dummy will occasionally miss attacks. For high level players, it makes no difference what level the dummy is.

This was only a real issue (or rather 'a bit messy'), when there were still abilities only executable at target HP below a certain value (Assassinate, No mercy).
