Why in the world would you list stuff you could get form the older treasure trove, but change the effing currency?????? I mean seriously what was the point of doing that? thats a dick move SE.

Because some people may still have some of those tomes. So they could still spend them.
They should make treasure trove currency use same type of tomes so can buy past items. There is really no point listing old item since moogle never leaves and you had plenty of time if still had old tomes to have used them.
My question is why would a player hold onto the old currency? As far as I know, everyone assumed the only other opportunity to get the Namazu earring is when it was released into the cash shop. It also seems like a really bad idea to have items available cost a currency you can no longer obtain. I like to try and rationalize some of the decisions made by the devs, but I'm drawing a blank on this one.
i mean im glad it game back cuz i had like.. 40? of those tomes lying around and after looking at the vendor this time around i realized i didnt have one of the minions that i thought i had so i bought it
I always just toss any event currency after its over. I don't need it taking up space for other items like crafting materials. Not sure why anyone would save them after event is over because each year new event takes a different currency.
Because you never know. Just because you didn't think to hold onto the old currency doesn't mean others didn't. I always hold onto stuff like that because once again, you never know what's going happen. To give another example I also hold onto all my old totems from past ex primals, because I know SE might add something else for us to purchase with them in the future. My question is why would a player hold onto the old currency? When the first mog tome event started, they flat out said when the tomes would not longer be obtainable (5.0 launch), and when you would no longer be able to purchse items from said tomes (5.1). https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...og-collection/ It's right in there.
It's not 5.1 yet. Those old items have been listed since the first event launched this entire time.
Likewise, the new tomes will become unavailable to obtain at 5.1 release, but can be used up until 5.2.
They're literally keeping their word, and you're mad at them for it?
