Summoner Help?

Hi Community,

I have slowly, but finally, managed to get my summoner leveled up to 60. The job quest to end the level 50-60 chapter was not bad at all. The job quest to start 60-70 is giving me a real problem! The Book with a Bite quest pits me against a summoned monster who hits like a truck and poisons me. I can't really avoid his attacks at all. He keeps flattening my chocobo healer and none of my summoned pets can tank him after the recent changes. I have been looking for a leveling guide online, but all the ones I've found are for before the shadowbringers changes took effect, and pets behaved a lot differently then.

Has anyone tried to level a summoner at all after these changes? I've tried kiting him around the big crystal, but he can hit me right through it and poison me. It's not so much the damage I do, but the damage he does to me (which seems unavoidable) that I can't work past. At best I've gotten him down to about 1/2 or 1/3 health- not even a near miss.

Since this is supposed to be a "starter quest" for stormbringers, I would assume it is meant to be soloable, but I'm not feeling it. Any thoughts, links to guides (for shadowbringer changes), etc are most welcome.

And so the secret to getting past that biting book quest is having a weapon equipped that is closer to level 60, then level 40!! Once I had some proper kit equipped, I nailed it one. Go figure...
