Does anyone know if they will be adding Map Markers you can place on the map to remember stuff like XI? I really enjoyed being able to label stuff I may otherwise forget. Like labeling which Entrances in sky led to which NM for my first couple runs up there. Be useful for NMs, World NMs, etc.

So yes, I hope very much these are an option, not something we have to have, or that the UI customisation system will let us remove them somehow by ourselves.
I don't understand how omitting this feature improves the overall gaming experience. How does opening a journal and waiting for a quest to load make you enjoy a game more? All it does is make the game more obtuse. Especially when quests are a dime a dozen. Do you really want to open up your log every time a random NPC wants you to kill 3 of x monster?

If Devs left this one out of the game, people would still be searching wiki for objectives. I just don't get what the problem is.

(I think the DEV team and SE is trying to put wiki out of business? lol!)

Are you referring to the mini-map or the full map, Okipuit? Though I have no issues with opening the menu, journal and checking to see my quests, I like the feature to be on the map too! This is a nice addition, (+7 points!), now all we need is markers and pen tool for maps! Please, ask them to add this too.

In addition to the map fuction, we want to see others on the map, but initially we can't find them on the map, so we should be able to pin-point their location(on the huge map) by clicking their name on a list(instead of moving around a map you can't even zoom-out of). There's no way to zoom-in or zoom-out so it's a time-sink to search the whole map for your pty members.

I welcome you and commend you for your efforts with 'x I v'! ^_^ b Please ignore the insult of my fellow players and country men for they don't speak for the rest of us(every town has their drunkards and idiots). No one has the right to judge.

SE should support this for I support user-accessibility for those who are disable or handicapped through unfortunate means. Right now i'm stuck in bed myself with a busted knee-cap. I can still type though but voice-recognition technology does exist and is very very useful! I'm in bed right now with a laptop but my main PC is just across the room from me where I can't go,lol! I wish I had voice recognition software for that baby of mine! XD

Please don't quit Catman, despite the odds against you. Life is a challenge as well as this game but it's fun too. You'll adapt to it and master it, I have high hopes you will.

Since when'd I ask them to omit it from the game? I just said having those features intruding on my UI would get on my nerves, not that they oughtn't implement it at all. It's a simple matter of preference; it's been my experience that floating exclamation marks and arrows manifesting in the world around my character annoy me. Doesn't bother you? Fine, leave them on!

You don't have to get what the problem is, it's a simple fact that some people happen to have not enjoyed a particular feature when they've been exposed to it in the past, and that feature also happens to be the sort that can have an on/off toggle with fairly little trouble and little to no impact on other players. I don't get the problem with asking for that.

Would it remain possible to flip between Action Bars? Because I found that it's really not that hard to flip between them using Shit+W and Shift+S.

Because I don't want to use my mouse to click the 1st action on my 2nd action bar, I would like to still have the possibility to chose an "active" action bar and just use my keyboard to use actions on that bar

Possible to select an acheivement and have it trackable on screen as well? Would be nice to do for ones like the crafting/gathering/kills achieves.

Opening a journal to find where to go is a lot easier the moving to a web browser and finding where to go.

Just because you had some bad experiences with these type of UIs before doesn't mean it won't be executed well. You are going to leave this option on for one simple reason. Turning off quest markers would be the same as turning off all the names display. Sure it makes things a little less cluttered. But the clutter is worth it.

The more innovative design to help us keep our eyes on the action and "HATE" would be to illuminate the character(TANK) with an ambient glow(or constant color/light) to illustrate the level of hate. At the same time, if the attention of the mob changes, you'll visually see his line of sight change to 'that' character. Have a "!" pop up above its head while it resets hate.

Every single thing doesn't need to be put to numbers or bars when good programming and design can visually help us play and understand the behavior of the game.

Another point I want to make to the director and dev team is, if we do choose to apply all these UI graphics along with the actual game play visuals and graphic to our display, will there be multi-display support?
I bought two identical LG flat-screen monitors(24") specifically for playing FFxIv. I think it could be included, display could be customizable to the right or left to accommodate a wide view. If there's an option to move the camera up and down in the configuration, there could be a one to move your character view from left to right. This way, I can move useful but distracting widgets to the left or right screen when in battle(or just enjoying the view).
You want to keep your eye on the action so you can focus on what's going on while at the same time keeping the other eye on the your other monitor far from the action but void of anything and therefore would be where you'd stick your widgets?

    Huh?
