Oooh, hey. That is VERY useful. More than once I need to jump around between map and teleport screen going "What the hell aetheryte is closes to what I want to go"

Yes, make it so. Selecting where you want to teleport from a simple text menu feels generic now that you mention it. A map to select the correct camp would be better. Or at least a text box that is linked visually to a map (think FFX airship). Honestly, I would prefer my own fast flying apparatus for travel.
Just bring up the map window when selecting a teleport location. That would be enough...
Wow that would be pretty awesome.I have another update to share with all of you!
We have heard that there have been instances where you may accidentally teleport to the wrong camp due to forgetting which camp is which at times due to teleporting through a menu so a player suggested if it would be possible to teleport by clicking the camp on the map.
This would be a very convenient feature and although we cannot promise that this would be possible to implement, we will see if it can make this possible in version 2.0.
What would make this even better is if you could right click the mouse button to zoom out from the map like in other MMO's and then click the area to view.
Right now the menu system in the top right corner is very clunky and slow.
So for example if I'm in Gridania and I open the map and right click it will Zoom me out to The Black Shroud and another right click would zoom me out to the World Map, I could then click on Thanalan> Uldah, click the aetheryte and teleport there.

Hey everyone!
I have a bit more information regarding 2.0’s interface customizability:
We're taking into consideration that some PC users with high resolution screens may want to expand the size of their UI while PS3 users might want to decrease it. Also, some may want to be able to individually customize the size of their text and icons within a widget. However, this may affect the layout design of the widget so we do not plan on including this feature by default. Users who desire to customize their UI with more detail could possibly create an add-on to do so.
Of course if there are major issues with the UI during beta testing (ex: The HP bar is difficult to see, please make it thicker) we will look into making these adjustments.

That makes a BIG assumption: that this time round SE will actually LISTEN to the feedback and concerns from the beta testers, unlike back in 2010 when we were more or less completely ignored in spite of the fact that MANY of the serious problems which were raised and brushed aside were directly responsible for the debacle that was 1.0's release.
It is of course hugely ironic that your comment is made in a thread discussing the UI failures with XIV, considering that this was one if the prime causes for complaint: I often wished the beta forums had remained open following release, so that we could have asked the many fanbois who kept repeating the mantra "stop QQing it's only a PLACEHOLDER UI" how stupid they felt when the reality finally dawned on them it wasn't!

Oh yeah. Because the Dev team hasn't been listening to the player base since then, have they? Not at all! Nope.
Nevermind the fact that Yoshida himself said they want to take the time to consider player feedback about the beta and not make the same mistake this time around >.>
That being said, regarding the UI, I can't feel but this is lazyness on the part of SE. SWTOR has an option to scale UI. If SE knows it's being requested, or thinks it may be useful to some players, there is NO reason why they shouldn't include this themselves instead of relying on an add-on. Hopefully this isn't a sign of the future- "oh, someone can just fix it with an add-on"
