I really want to be able to visually know when I can use counter-related actions (phalanx, haymaker, etc.). I would like them to light up to make it easier to see!
Sorry for how long it has taken this to be implemented, but we’re glad to say that this will appear in patch 1.21a!

    ^^^^^^^ Love this

To continue discussion with Jinko here instead of cluttering Rein's thread:

(ie a number)
If you say so. It is far from BS though, as my experiences say otherwise - even with using a buffed, blindside critical Howling Fist with the proper elemental fist weakness on an enemy to deal spike damage that would put any BLM nuke to shame bringing me from yellow to red, but not blinking. I remember even trying to take hate like that once. Point is, experiences vary.

As I said I wanted to take this to the other thread as this isn't the thread to discuss it, you would also see the images I had made to explain myself better.

This is what I am referring to

Showing a number a gauge or percentage is much better than an ambiguous colour. (lets not forget those that are colour blind either)
You see, that picture is interesting. The bars that gradually fill provide an analog sense of enmity in relation to the tank and whilst they can be accepted as self-sufficient in the information they can provide, the numerical % values would go a long way as well providing the most precise information. Your picture shows this.

What I find funny is that you use that picture as an example for color coding, when in fact that specific UI design shows the absolute least use for colors. I don't need green, yellow, orange, red when I can see 60% or 85% or 95%. That's more precision than any color can give - more than enough precision even. With enmity bars on the party list that gradually fill and show a % value, I'd be perfectly fine with all the bars staying red.

EDIT: Never mind, after reading the posts in this thread I can see you meant to show the % values system as something better than colors, not alongside them.

Well I meant to show the percentage as a choice/option.

If the UI is as customisable as they claim they want it to be, I think it would be a good idea to have the player choose which they want to use, personally I am happy with colours and gauges, but like the post before said for colour blind users the addition of numbers would be helpful.

And I'm guessing going by your post you would prefer gauges and percentage.

It also relates to addons in some way as well because if SE provide the information to the standard UI in a detailed way its easier for people who want to create addons to get the information they need and improve upon it.

For anyone keen on detailed information regarding hate, the numerical representation of their % hate in relation to the tank would be the best way to go. That being said, I am perfectly happy with the enmity bars they depicted in the 2.0 UI screenshot. Even without the % value, for anyone who feels the numbers may "clutter" their UI, the bars provide the required detailed information in comparison to just colors.

Agreed, XIV seems to be being dumbed-down to appease the WOW crowd who are utterly unable to play without threat meters and the like.

I would like to see you play this game without threat meters, next patch you should be able to turn the threat icon off.. good luck with that.

I think that whole T, H, C, etc thing is a bit of a waste. All it converys is SE's idea of the intended role for that job. I can tank stuff on WHM but it's not gonna get a T, right? How about WAR's current implementaton? What letter does that get.

That is superfluous information which won't even be accurate all the time. Might as well scrap that idea.

Yea lets scrap that because we have no idea what the intended use is. (besides the obvious)

Actually, I suspect (hope) you will be able to assign the letters by player, not have them automatically assigned. So you could very well mark your Conjurer as T1 or T2, and your PLD as H1.

Subtarget non attack actions only option for action bar
I love the new addtion allowing us to subtarget directly from the action bar. Its helpful to those of us who do not want to or know how to macro everything. It also keeps you from having to exit target lock "B button" exit target "B Button" select new target "A button" select cure "over a few times" confirm "A Button" just to heal your buddy in a duo party.
The select cure and use subtarget is awesome here.
However when i select "thunder" I am now bothered with the subtarget ever time also. I would suggest that if we are fighting a target there is no reason to subtarget attacks. If we wish to change target of attacks you can make us exit target lock and select a new target or add a all or non attack spells only option to the target mode selection.

Otherwise keep the nice addtions coming ^^
