Chocobo barding wing part

Since the release of Heavensward, chocobo have been able to fly by flapping their (tiny)wings. We've come to a point where we have flying panda, horses with no wing, dogs, chair, bed, etc, I think you get the point.


My issue here is the wing part of our chocobo barding. It look awful, especially the job barding for tank chocobo and all the grand companies and a few other primal bardings. It look atrocious with a big heavy metal plate clipped to your chocobo's wing and yet still have it flap like it made out of paper.


Can we have it back to normal like pre Heavensward with those bardings, ie: have the chocobo fly without flapping their wings if those barding are equiped.

Yeah, it does look pretty bad. I don't use any barding that covers the wing.

Don't know if not flapping the wings at all would be better though.

Same. I love the idea of barding but so many of them either have some very awkward body-horror kind of attachment (like extra limbs) or they cover the poor thing's wings.

Would love either a way to toggle that part off (like a helm visor) or just more options that don't cover wings.

I often use the gamblers barding, as it makes the wings seem bigger.

Agreed. Most of the chocobo bardings look like they took a human costume design, sewed up the sleeves and stuck it over the bird's neck. It doesn't look like something designed to suit its body shape.

The few bardings that are designed for it and otherwise look good, all put covers over the wings - and it looks uncomfortable for the bird as well as just not looking nice to me. I would love some designs that leave the wings uncovered.

Yes, ever since I got my chocobo I have hated how most barding covers the poor guy's wings. No way he can flap his wings and fly with that stuff on there.

I only use bardings that don't cover his wings -- which is pretty limited selection.

Lately I have just been letting him run around with just a helmet and none of the other pieces (which are usually overdone for my taste.. I'm not into a bunch of spikes and blades, etc).
