Well a) Not everyone's good at photoshop or image manipulation.

But more importantly a screenshot + image modification will never stack even remotely up to the same wonder and style as an extremely well done commission by a great artist. You could edit it as much as you like, but the game has a very static artstyle to it, whereas with artists you get hundreds, thousands of unique styles to express your character in ways that no image manipulation ever could. Not to mention you're limited by only things the game can handle animation/posing wise, whereas with artists you can create pretty much anything you can imagine. I've gotten many commissions, and all of them have blown away pretty much any fun gpose session idea I ever had in terms of artistic expression and gorgeousness.

That being said OP, you're best putting up posts on art reddits or doing artist shopping to see if any of them would accept gil. Though it honestly also depends on what sort of quality you're looking for. Pretty much any artist that's remotely talented is going to be wanting money for their time, so the odds of finding a decent artist that'd accept gil is very low. I'd also reccomend to set up a twitter account and enter into a lot of those art raffles you see many artists do, as depending on your luck it can pay off, I've won an occasional piece.

As for the whole picture thing I'm sure someone would for enough gil, just depends on the quality and amount of gil you're prepared to spend (and time waiting perhaps lol).

Since it's specifically gil and not real money might have better luck advertising via party finder, discord, or perhaps a ffxiv sub reddit of art (being clear in the info that it's for in game money only). Might save a lot of people's time by saying how much you're willing to spend as well (500 gil for your finest stick figures~!)- and when you get inquiries probably ask for some past example work and then communicate through them via those means (like if they link a twitter, talk to that twitter)... At least if you get scammed then you know you were actually dealing with a specific person lol.

Rather than me saying "yeh I'll do it for 250k, here is my awesome art work [link someone else's stuff]" and never giving you anything and you're not even sure you actually talked to the artist or not.

Making a clear agreement and terms without being overly wordy like half my posts .

Not saying don't look here but I get a feeling it wont be very productive or welcomed (especially if it gets frequent with other people following suit), soliciting work/s tends to not go down very smoothly here and I imagine moderators would start to do something if it turns part of the forum into that.

I was wondering if anyone does art commissions for in-game payment rather than out-of-game payments. Obviously I'm doing this because irl I'm a little poor at the moment.

Unlikely given that gil is essentially a worthless commodity. One of the reasons so many people are sitting on hundreds of millions is because you just can't do anything with it.. its worthless.

TBH. Been doing commission advertisement in PF and got 3 commissions from it with RM. Since it's my current profession and way of living, I cannot risk any of this with the recent PF update anymore.

Its about 35/50 dollars for a single full body on etsy with addional cost depending on extras. Thats not bad, i'm personally planing to do a couble one off somebody with my future bun boy with Zenos.

I doubt anyone would do it for gil, unless its a set for life amount like 99mill or something
