Seeing that they don't show a Viera or Hrothgar I can only assume the helm is hidden to us...
I thought they were going to make sure any new gear sets will let us show the helm on the new races.

The lack of helms wasn't about not having the models ready, it was an executive decision that they weren't going to display at all - until everyone objected and the art team added in what they could.
For Hrothgar at least, I think it's to do with how the hair has been implemented as part of the face model and not a separate piece added on top of it, so they can't use code to switch it off when wearing headgear that hides part or all of the hair. It would most likely clip through all helmets.
Viera is stranger since they seem to be fine with cowls and such. (...do those work on Hrothgar? Never seen any wearing it.) Would be great if they could give a technical explanation for it.
who knows really
we have deep shadow and eden gear where viera cant wear most the helms there
those ears seem to be a real concern
another concern is this the melee contest design winner?
and yes Hrothgar can wear cowls,Hrothgar can wear more head gear than viera

It really aggravates me since either way if they don’t change it so Viera/Hrothgar get access to all existing headpieces and hairstyles shared by all other races it’ll cause people to Fantasia, giving them MORE money for doing less. This is a very slippery slope to getting bad relations with their fanbase if they don’t address this sooner rather than later. They all but committed to adding more helms and headpieces now, so they should just get on with it and dispense with the excuses or blatant avoidance, as if we’d forget like with the Egi Glamours. The more pressing matter to me is the exclusive PAID hairstyles not being accessible. Where do we draw the line here? When should we start demanding a free fantasia to any player who’s switched to these, essentially, limited races?
To answer your question there: Never. It really aggravates me since either way if they don’t change it so Viera/Hrothgar get access to all existing headpieces and hairstyles shared by all other races it’ll cause people to Fantasia, giving them MORE money for doing less. They were very clear about the limitations that would come with Hrothgar and Viera and the mogstation clearly stats that the hairstyles cant be used, same goes for any headgear that is included in those sets. Its very reasonable to expect people who play Hrothgar/Viera to know about those limitations beforehand and then being able to make the choice wether or not a mogstation-set is still worth it to them.
The same goes for the whole Fantasia-thing: They made it very clear from the start that headgear would be limited, with no promise whatsoever that that would ever change or that headgear in the future would be less limited. So that it is infact limited should come to no surprise to anyone whos switched to one of those races. They told you excatly what to expect ("no headgear, limited hairstyles") and you were then able to make the choice wether or not you'd accept that and wether or not to change. In my book NOT accepting this, STILL switching and now being upset about it is not really a valid option.
An, for the record, we're not "giving them more for doing less" - adjusting headgear for Viera and Hrothgar would most likely triple their workload on headgear because now they'd have to adjust it for their special head-"needs" instead of creating this "one modle fits all (if we add earpockets)".
In order to make the Hrothgar and Viera happen and in order to make them look "special" they had to make the choice to say "Okay, we can only do this if we dont add headgear" or else it would have just not happend. They communicated that and if people dont listen or dont believe them, thats on them not on the devs or SE.
They've adressed this by telling us "Dont hold your breath for that, we dont promise anything - if you play Hrothgar/Viera you wont be able to use most of the headgear". No further adressing needed in my book. Everyone can now decide for themself if thats something they're okay with or not.
Nope. The melee gear design is the Metal Gear looking one while the ranged phys is the Valkyria Chronicles/Steampunk design.. This dungeon gear is based more on the Gnole mob enemy from Lakeland.
Most likely they'll have one of the gear sets drop in 5.3 and 5.5 since the even patches use the same dungeon gear for both dungeons. Hell's Lid/Fractal Hard, Burn/Saint Moc Hard reused an older set from 3.5 just with recolors. Expecting a Stormblood gear set to be reused for the next two dungeons.
However for the tome gear I'm gonna bet it'll be dropping as a Weekly Tome gear for the next raid. It totally seems like it was made to be a tome set with the futuristic design similar to the Ronkan/Deepshadow sets.
I think thats a Roegadyn in monk-stance? There are clearly two races missing from the picture and it doesnt make much sense to leave Roegadyn out - it would make sense not display Hrothgar, since they probably wont be able to wear that headgear.
(So from left to right the races should be: Hyur, Hyur, Elezen, AuRa, Mi'qote, Lalafell, Roegadyn - leaving the two new races out)
A Roegadyn, hu? Well, that would also makes sense. I just tought because of the clean white bodycolor it would be a Hrothgar. But I still think they could actually wear this kind of cape/mask/helmets as the mask already looks like their hair and faces.

just came to my mind with the mask being so similar to the visor just with the light and allNope. The melee gear design is the Metal Gear looking one while the ranged phys is the Valkyria Chronicles/Steampunk design.. This dungeon gear is based more on the Gnole mob enemy from Lakeland.
