Why I look forward to Limited jobs

first I find this ideal a good ideal. for many reason. let suppose SE introduce beast master this mean we tame beast. let suppose they add feature of let us keep are pets. this mean we train are pets.

limit jobs should have ability work together in dungeons, because well they limited jobs. players can have combat jobs that aren't tied to raids and dungeon system were players feel rush to get the job to lvl 70. these jobs can have more detail focus system. such as ability to keep your pet and lvling raise them up. the devs can get more creative with the limited jobs through their should negative the dungeon/raid jobs. SE can test more stuff in the limited jobs and see what they apply to the not limited jobs use what they learned for the limited jobs.

Limited jobs would be neat if they actually did something cool with them, and it didnt feel like you were playing a watered-down version of a bad version of a bad class.

Or basically, if they did with them what people thought blue mage would be and not what blue mage WAS.

If we're going to get more blue mage esque classes, theres no point in taking people away from designing actual content to work on that.

I’ll never, truly understand how anyone can do the mental gymnastics required to fool themselves into wanting “limited” anything. By its very definition, limited means LESS than what we COULD have, less fun, less playability, less everything in the long run.

EQ did some cool stuff with monster missions. You could use a 'shroud' to turn yourself into a monster, gain a few abilities based on the monster you picked, and run some tasks with them, leveling the shroud up. When you hit different milestones, it let you use the shroud other places, unlock new abilities, and unlock some skins. You couldnt take them into actual content, but they were still an interesting bit of side content that people did until the concept was largely abandoned.

It was kind of a neat niche thing at first, but after a while it began to feel like a let down.

I feel somewhat optimistic at the prospect of having a Level 70 Blue Mage, since that'll be able to do a decent amount of content, though that'll be at the point where every other Job is 90, so you'd have to gimp yourself to even be using that.

Limited Jobs are a waste of resources from the Dev Team's side, if only they meant to convert Blue Mage to a full job I'd understand all the fuss about it, otherwise BLU is just a useless job.

I won't support the idea of adding more limited jobs, instead they should use those valuable resources in creating something better like a new Healer job!.

I will never understand why they had to call the concept as "limited job"? Why not go with "side job" or "sub job" as an XI reference? Needlessly bad marketing as far I'm concerned. Not to mention that it doesn't really explain what the purpose is. At least side job immediately suggests that the content is meant as a side activity. Must be a case of a difference between languages or something. Anyway...

I think I agree with your comment, I guess. It's a bit jumbled, but I sense that you appreciate SE doing things out of the norms when it comes to job development. If so, I like that part of BLU too. And if I may add, the limited job concept can give more obscure or niche jobs a chance to be added in to XIV. Which is always nice.

It bugs me as a name because it an incredibly, for lack of a better word, "gamey" term.

Near everything in game has some sort of lore compatible name and reasoning, even if they have to stretch to make it fit, but limited job is purely a technical term that no-one in the FFXIV world would or does ever use and there is never even a flimsy excuse given for why you can't do regular content with it.
