Where Dalamud lands...

Not sure if it will really hit or not however the empire did drop Dalamud once already and destroyed the Bozja Citadel completely. So it may hit or the force of it getting close can wipe out a large area? I would think maybe it gets close then fires off a large blast... but then they said they brought it down before and could not control where it landed... meaning it hit...

These final fantasy stories always involve nature vs technology. gaia vs man, lifeforce vs using the lifeforce to power factories and weapons.

Dalamud is the technology (and the garleans). The natural world is made up of aether and primals and the twelve, right?

Most likely Cid will find a way to use the aether (lifestream~~) to stop dalamud, possibly damaging the lifestream in the process, disrupting the land, etc etc.

Exactly, you could argue that Aether is a form of energy. It can't be created, it can't be destroyed, but it can be converted into other forms, like elemental magic or meatbags. They even play with the mystical/rational mindsets in the monk quests. It's like the people who take offense at scientific thought to explain things in a fantasy setting never heard of Clarke's third law.

I believe the intention is for Dalamud to fall

In the quest "two vans are better than one," Legatus Gaius Van Baelsar reminds Legatus Nael van Darnus of a past tragedy where they couldn't control where Dalamud landed.... and Darnus responds that he is in possession of Allagan artifacts that will lead him to another artifact that will indeed control where Dalamud will land...
This conversation is VERY important... because they also reference meteor....

You guys can call me stupid for this.... because I can't figure it out.... but I can't tell if the Legati are using "Meteor" and "Dalamud" as interchangeable terms of if they are truly 2 different phenomenon

As was stated before it was a machine created by Allag. It is currently being sent aetheric energy from crystals by the Empire, the net result is in some way to use the ancient magic of Meteor. My guess is that this floating satalite machine, Daladmud, is going to be a device that gathers energy allowing the spell to be cast. While a machine on the planet, mentioned by Cid (one he thought destroyed) will be used to control the effects of Meteor. The spell will be cast, the machine will be used to amplify it (not actually being the Meteor. Meteors will destroy parts of Eorzea, but the player in a CS necessary to transition from 1.X client to 2.0 will step in the way and stop it from being completed. Thus, allowing us to save part of Eorzea from total destruction.

Yes but in the CS I just linked... Baelsar essentially says We shouldn't do meteor... have no way of controlling where Dalamud will fall...

Ifrit's a threat, but not the only one. You have Moogles in the Shroud and you have Garuda that will most likely be in Coethras.

Though, on a somewhat unrelated subject. After rewatching the opening cinematic just now..I really hope, one day, we'll get to visit Silvertear Falls as they once were, before that great battle that reshaped it into what it is now.

Where do you think the major moon impact will be? Where do you want it to be?

Is it big enough that it will cover all three main areas?

Days before the change, will it black out (Red out) the sky?

Can the machine that brings it down control where it lands or is it like a magnet which pulls the moon directly to it?

Lastly... and this is just me hoping... but do you think there will be some big delicious cutscene showing Eorzea mangled by the red monstrosity?

2. I doubt it... would be cool if we kept the same cities (maybe not Gridania though <_<) and overall the world but with a giant region of the world in destruction from the impact.. where we discover a new world of beasts

3. That would be awesome... even if radiated to the ground level and things were a shade of red haha

4. Eh... I dunno it's a game lol... they can make any story out of that meteor hitting or not.

5. I HOPE there's an awesome 20-30 minute cutscene.. serious. With plenty of details.

As far as the cut scene... It could just end up being a new opening movie... the opening movie we have now that you can select at the login screen is pretty epic... but it shows guildleves and such and doesn't really tie in as much with the new vision of the game
