PC freezing in FFXIV only?

i need some form of help here. i have been playing FFXIV for nearly two years now. and never had issues till my PC stopped updating. and i had to reinstall Windows. now that its all up to date, FFXIV even while at the lowest setting and most minimal graphics, will freeze the PC entirely graphic stop moving my headset pops and the only way to fix, is to reboot. and after reboot, it will freeze upon boot, require another hard power down. and then its fine. ffxiv is the only game its been doing this with. i dont know what to do. but its been months and i have been trying to pin point the problem this whole time. its making me lose it cause when it freezes, theres no bug report. theres no signs. the stats, temp, cpu, gpu. all fine. its getting where im having to crunch to see if i cant rebuild my dinosaur but also its been COMPLETELY fine till now. no clue what happened, this is a fresh install.

Have any updates or changes been made to the PC? When the game freezes, is there an error message? If so, could you provide the error message in your next reply.

I have the same issue reported it twice , my post gets closed.. it has to do with the fps changes they made and remade.. i never had issues before until that maint. if i set my settings too high it will cause a freeze due to the in game limiter cause it didn't start happening til that maint. i used to be able to run my game at max setting i had a 20k benchmark score for shb at max settings. i can play any other game at 4k settings as i have a 2080 ti. it has something to do with 14.

This is the same issue I have. I think it's related to an error I had when I played FFXIV more regularly; where the game itself would suddenly run in slow-motion, and the FPS counter would say anything between 1 and 11, but be stuck at that framerate for up to 3 seconds at a time.

Nowadays, when I don't run the game for hours every day, it seems to happen when I launch the game or enter the character select screen; and it breaks everything in windows in the same way, programs appear to be responding but the entire Operating system is running at a sluggish and inconsistent rate.

- System report ( go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.')
- What you have tried to alleviate the problem
