And the game just got a population boom from what we can tell, necessitating the addition of more houses especially for any new free companies that cropped up.

Actually Mateus had a few empty lots open for a pretty long while when they last added wards, all large and mediums were taken of course but there plenty of smalls left until they removed the FC only restriction. They just posted something about it recently and looks like they're planning to do the same with new wards after 5.1.
"Please note, however, that sales of plots in wards 19 through 21 will be restricted to Free Companies for a limited time."
Also a long while back Devs mentioned that they're trying to figure out a way to improve apartments, larger versions and such, think once they do we'll see less housing issues as apartment should basically end up as "personal homes."
Congratulations on failing to properly read my post. Once again, not a single server got even close to being capped on houses when new last set of wards were added. Data from Spriggan and Twintania also support that. Might want to fact check certain things as you're obviously clueless.

I read your post and I 1000000% disagree with you. I play every day on Mateus and Balmung and they were ABSOLUTELY FULL the SAME DAY that they opened for private purchase came out. They ARE all taken, STILL. I'm not clueless, it's called I play on those servers and have always played on those servers. I don't care what housing was available on Twintania and Spriggan, they aren't Balmung and Mateus.Congratulations on failing to properly read my post. EDIT: Mateus, where ONE PERSON owns an ENTIRE WARD of housing by themselves and SE does nothing to change that. They were 'grandfathered in' to the new housing purchase requirements.

Lets talk housing on one of the multiple threads already talking housing perhaps? Especially since you're not saying anything that isn't already being said on those threads ....

Sorry, I didn't see any of those threads and if they're there, they're buried. There's at least four brand new threads about the mentor status requirement changes and those were on the front page. I admittedly was not going to go digging for hours looking for dead/old threads.
This thread in particular has more to do with what they're doing in 5.1 just won't be enough as it was never enough in the past and not just a generic housing thread.

Would you like to add something constructive or just keep harassing me for starting a thread when there's other dead/old threads somewhere else in the void of the forum graveyard? Please, either add to the discussion to go be the forum police on some other forum. There are lots of repeat threads because people don't want to spend HOURS trying to find 'old threads' that nobody wants to click on anymore because they're too long. (Like the Male Viera thread.)
There's a reason those threads are dead and old. The topic has been discussed to the point where whinging about it is no longer cathartic; It's been discussed to death. Also, I believe you're exaggerating the search function. People don't use search because they are lazy, not because it takes 'HOURS'. You couldn't even find the smallest consideration to post this in the 'Housing' section of the forum. Try as you might, the cycle will repeat.Would you like to add something constructive or just keep harassing me for starting a thread when there's other dead/old threads somewhere else in the void of the forum graveyard? But go ahead and make your suggestions, plead for change and know despair. Then, you may abandon all delusions of control.
Let's go to every housing thread and complain again about people talking about housing. If it bothers you so much don't open the thread. Find another hobby, because if coming here to complain is all you have to do, then you truly have nothing to add, that hasn't already been said a billion times too.

Defensive much? Anyone opened a thread is subjected to scrutiny. There is nothing subjectively wrong with what the person you quoted said, and it's no where near as rude as your own response to it.Let's go to every housing thread and complain again about people talking about housing.
