I was thinking. They upped the requirements to be a mentor. Took away and fix a few things wrong with the system, so that those who do not meet the new requirements to date will no longer get to hold onto something they once qualified for by some grandfather clause.
My point is, why don't they fix housing too? Make it clear cut and downgrade people so all are on equal footing with the one plot/one fc rule. Fix the wrongs and make them right for the communities of owners and buyers sake. There is no reason not to now that they stripped another system in order to make it function properly and fairly.

Nice delete.
Just to be clear, I LOVED your post. Why would I dislike it when you sunk your own ship?
But hey, I can clearly see you are confused by how things work around here so let me help you.
I was referring to the moderation team that removes entire pages worth of posts instead of going post by post.
You somehow came to the conclusion I could delete what I dislike. How you came to that conclusion is known only by the Twelve (if even).
Originally? That was the unintended goal. Back in the day, a single person could own half a ward, purely for having the gil to do so. But I can only assume an FC having a monopoly on housing is more acceptable, given it's a group of (Assumedly) 50+ people all working to get to that point. If SE intended for one person to have 50 homes they wouldn't have a limit on individuals. This is clearly a loophole that allows people to circumvent that rule. This can't possibly be what they intended. However, unless I see their logic behind removing the cap on FC house purchases per account, I have no idea what they're doing.
If it were a Roleplaying FC owning an entire Ward, I think it'd be fine. Especially if they used the lands they owned, beyond the workshop and FC-related systems. But that is a stretch even on the best of days.
(To be clear, I more-mean hosting Roleplaying events, offering RP hubs and such as "used the lands they owned".)
Swtor was awful for everything except the tiny wall of space in the smallest available apartment available that I stuffed every relevant interactable in.Merely throwing SWTOR in there for the instancing. The hooks in those were horrible and a lot of that made no sense really.
That space was the best space ive ever had in gaming.
Bank, guild bank, vendor, marketboard, venture panel, ect? that I had to move 0 steps to use all of? Yup. Sign me up for something that can work that well in 14,
There's a bit of a difference between Upp'ing Mentor Status' requirements and owning housing.I was thinking. They upped the requirements to be a mentor. Took away and fix a few things wrong with the system, so that those who do not meet the new requirements to date will no longer get to hold onto something they once qualified for by some grandfather clause.

Mentor Status is meant to be hard to get, but once you have it, it is beaten over the head to new players and returning players that Mentors will answer what questions you may have. That Mentors know enough to give you a right answer. It's a sign of prestige that reflects what you have accomplished in the game and (assumedly) are not an asshole, since it requires other people to give you their comm. Can't really buy comms (that I know of)
Housing is rather easy to get (at least nowadays) and is first-come, first-served. The veteran players shouldn't be punished for buying the plot when it was available, purely because someone that joined the game later didn't get that same chance. Why would I have to lose my house because people who joined FFXIV a month later lost out on the exact plot I have?
Late to the party, you expect to not get fresh food. People aren't going to "restart their party" just so you feel included, when you were already included to begin with. If you got to the party earlier, you'd have a better chance.
(Metaphors!)
I guess you missed that first part of the sentence you quoted from me. If you are going to take tidbits, then please understand the grand scheme of what I pointed out.Swtor was awful for everything except the tiny wall of space in the smallest available apartment available that I stuffed every relevant interactable in.

Moratoriums are fine but they should only last for the first few hours of the patch or maybe the first day, as it stands it's been a good day or two and it's safe to say any FCs that plan on buying new plots have already done so, so now there's wards sitting with a bunch of empty plots and nobody to buy them.
Watching forum drama be like
How long do you think the FC restriction will be? My character has been homeless ever since I switched servers, and I just want a small plot and not be homeless anymore
Most likely theyll lift them with 5.11. So that patch will be Alex Ultimate, the start of ishgard rebuilding, and housing moratorium lifted.
