    Where are you getting that idea from? The shards are different dimensions, not separated by physical space.

    The Ascians' plan involves breaking down the barriers between each dimension (ie. rejoining them), and the Crystal Tower "time machine" doesn't just need the Alexander-based ability to move through spacetime but Omega's power over the interdimensional rift.


    (The dragons' homeworld is not a shard though, and Midgardsormr and Omega seem to have arrived across physical space. It may be the same "Dragon Star" observed by the Ishgardians to predict Nidhogg's attacks.)
