Delete PvP Mentor.
Instead, have a Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Diamond emblem that you earn at the end of a Feast season. Which one you can set depends on what you ended the last season as.

I like the sound of this but people are already jealous enough of pvp rewards, wouldn't want to antagonise them further or the crying will get louder.
I'd say anyone who is going to cry about their inability to obtain an icon next to their name deserves to be laughed at to the upmost degree. A mount I can understand, since at the end of the day XIV is a mount collect-a-thon game, but an icon next to your name? Anyone who complains about that deserves to be laughed at and ignored. Let the man babies throw their temper tantrums.
Biggest flaw I can see is that, as a replacement for the PvP Mentor system, it entirely ignores the majority of PvP and is really just an added Feast reward. The skills are largely transferable, so one has to assume a Diamond Wolf has some idea how to play PvP, but Diamond Wolf =/= knowing what times the nodes spawn in Secure, for example. Still, as a mentor system it's leagues better than what we currently have for PvP. Mixing Bronze to Diamond ranks into it to add levels of seniority to PvP Mentors is honestly something they should do to regular Mentors, in fact. it would also be hilarious to me to see Mentor status have rank decay before Feast
Honestly though, the Mentor system is pretty broken and horrid in its own right, and I don't think the Novice Network is really a worthwhile place for any PvP related questions just because of how bad the community in this game is in general. Nice idea, absolutely garbage implementation, even if (like SE) we ignore PvP. We'd be better off aiming for something like an official PvP Learning Fellowship that players are prompted to join in the PvP Profile/when unlocking PvP or something. That would put players in contact with experienced PvPers all the same, and can easily be used to point towards guides/etc. Things like the Questionnaire could even be used by SE to gather feedback, in general it could be used to highlight community team PvP streams, etc. That's all extra work for SE though, so I'll just laugh that notion right out of my head.

Dont forget the Hunterwolf emblem, the Betawolf and the leader of the pack emblem.
But yeah, i did suggest once that pvp Mentor should require Top 100 title/placement, people found that very funny.

I would combine the two ideas and tie the PVP mentor crown to diamond, that way you have the status of Bronze Rank/Silver Rank/Gold Rank/Diamond Rank/Veteran (unlocked with Diamond). The simple difference between Diamond and Veteran would be the design of the icon, with the Veteran icon being unified with the rest of the mentor crowns. The reason for this is that it differentiates a player who wants to be a mentor from one who wants to show off their rank. Not every diamond player will want to help novices, and players might feel intimidated simply asking advice from a "Diamond tier player"
Not yet, planned for 5.1
