Request for Regional Chat

I think they want to differentiate fellowship from linkshell, but fellowship does have a message board instead.

But as such, the message board could also be handled as a way to have a linkshell or two regarding it. At least, that's how I see it, knowing now it doesn't have its own chat channel.

Lock it behind MSQ, 2.0 would work. Folks could opt in or out as they wanted, there is nothing that says you have to stay in a channel. It's really easy to set it up so it doesn't show in your chat boxes. It's also real easy to block bots and RMT report them. I like the idea.

That's because NN is a world chat. You open up a world chat with no requirement to join and the same type of chat will happen in that world chat too. It's why I end up turning off trade chat in WoW and just stick to general chat.

I left NN about 5 minutes after being invited to it, because it was basically Trade Chat.

This is a request that comes from many places. Novice Network use, /shout chat, general player communication in hubs as well as Party Finder.

I would like to see a World Chat, as other mmos have done since the early 00's.

Personally I would stay far away from such a chat, but having it could actually be a good idea - then all the stupid, inane drivel that so often pollute /shout chat and NN would all be concentrated in one, easily-ignored, place.

I'm not seeing a link in your post or anything. If you're referencing the other recent one, I have asked people to come to this one because of its format, date created, and what I feel has been worded for clear translation and understanding. A very direct request over a suggestion.
