Nice idea but I can see it being abused especially by bots - Would have to be locked behind MSQ progress or lvl

I could see this being a thing if 2 things are required for it:
1) Off by default - You have to enable / join the chat to see it.
2) Locked by MSQ progression - Make it so you have to finish ARR, but not the patch work, to join the chat.
Yes, this is extremely true. I actually hated being a sprout and seeing that this was all NN was doing on Mateus.Novice Network is often used for discussions in no way relating to gameplay or new player help, but politics, NSFW content and the occasional mentor chatter that should be in a Linkshell.
Your friendly neighborhood gamer.
In other iterations of World Chat, I've seen it gated behind (usually) lv15, quest progression or leaving the tutorial zone. I agree. I would suggest Lv.15 (First dungeon), Lv. 30 (Job) and/or player time.
Yes a bot could afk and wait it out, but there are bots invited to NN, in /shout, in /say and sending spam friend requests. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop them unless they actually stop botting altogether.
Lock it behind MSQ, 2.0 would work. Folks could opt in or out as they wanted, there is nothing that says you have to stay in a channel. It's really easy to set it up so it doesn't show in your chat boxes. It's also real easy to block bots and RMT report them. I like the idea.
I support having a global/regional chat.
If you guys are posting NWS stuff in NN, you better tell a GM.
And I need to visit Mateus more often!
