I'd be ok with 24 hour resets, its what I was used to in WoW, of course for SE to do this they would need more content probably, 24 hour resets in 2.0 would be good IMO.It's more of a difference between re-entry cooldowns and drop rates. Currently people do not want low re-entry and low drop rate because that requires grinding and grinding and grinding. People don't want 24 hours cooldown either because then they "can't play." IMO the best possible course of action is to just make drop rates better if you get the speed run so the people who can actually do it get a higher chance of obtaining gear as opposed to those who cannot.
But lets be clear that it would only lock you out if you completed the dungeon.
Without changing droprates this would certainly keep people playing, if they had the patience.
Imagine a static getting on avg. 1 drop every 100 runs, 8ppl want 5items @100runs/item @1run/day = 4000days/365 = > 10 years to complete, that'd be a way to keep em on the line for a bit.
