This exactly! ^ Or like I said give us something USEFUL from the run; gives us that nice pat on the back feeling rather than getting slapped in the face. Please for the love of the Twelve, stop giving us Grade 5 Dark MATTER! tyWe are trying again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again... Our current streak is well over 200 boss chests opened with no drop. If this were just 1 drop, like a Defending Ring, that may be fine. But it's not. It's 31 drops (assuming unrealistic perfect drop efficiency) to get 1 set per person for an 8 person raiding group (also unrealistic, since almost all of us use more than 8 in total).
There's a limit to how many fruitless farm clears of this content people are going to be willing to do. It isn't reasonable to ask people to clear a dungeon they've already mastered hundreds upon hundreds of times. No game does that except this one. I and anyone else complaining are more than willing to put in much effort, as we already do, but there needs to be slightly more reward to keep people's interest long term. Not hand outs, just put the carrot on a slightly shorter stick so we can actually see it.![]()
So to you 'work' is mindlessly repeating something umpteen times. Actually what it means is that people get fed up with not getting any drops and the game turns into a small niche inhabited by players prepared to spend days and weeks and months getting NOTHING due to asininely low drop rates and huge competition. This stuff needs to stay very rare, otherwise there's no accomplishment in obtaining it and everyone will have full darklight sets within a month. This keeps these dungeons relevant longer, so people will still be running these in later patches so they can get darklight gear.
I don't want stuff handed to me, I want to have to work for it.

No one here has done Salvage have they? Try 300-400 runs to obtain a lv35 piece...rofl. Oh and having to get imperial standing to go...then only being able to once a day 3 times a week!
Darklight is not nearly so bad. If you don't like the drop rate you don't have to keep doing the instance. They will eventually release better gear anyway. I hope they make it more difficult to obtain and rarer! <3 I don't get the whole..let's hurry up and get gear so we can stand in town and be bored mentality....

Wow thank you!!!Howdy!
I checked with the development team about their plans for Darklight equipment.
They do not have any plans of increasing the difficulty in exchange for a higher drop rate. Also, since Darklight equipment is one of the strongest of all the currently obtainable gear, a proper drop rate was established with this in mind, and as such we have no plans of changing the current drop rate. However, after monitoring conditions for a while and based on the feedback we receive we will look into possible adjustments for the future.
For once you guys have made something that will keep the decent people playing the game for more than a week after the update!!!
Great job!
How about this?...
They increase the droprate for "Unique/Untradable/Unmeldable" Darklight Gear but have a very rare drop for "Meldable Darklight Gear"?
Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.
Some may not agree with the facts of this or your opinion about it but I do fully 100%. Well all except the tokens drop, I would like to see some form of consistency instead of it being 100% random though. When you spend several hours every night doing something with you LS and noone gets a single piece of new DL gear. It tends to make some desire it more but I would likely say for most it makes you not want to even bother with it anymore. There's no way we can keep people excited to raid every night for the next few months when there is a high probability that an entire night of full 5 chest clears will yield 0 good drops for anyone. Higher drop rates or a token system that lets us make steady progress would go a long way in keeping us motivated to run this content for longer.
While I understand the need to prevent people from being done with the content too fast and losing interest, the current system will instead make people lose interest long before they get the drops. I hope that 1.21a will address this, and I hope that future loot is handled better. Gear rewards should not be about "getting lucky", or players will feel cheated for their efforts.
Nice exaggeration. I can't think of a single piece that takes "300-400" times for a level 15 drop. Unless your group was horrible and you couldn't get past the first floor, no way it would take that many runs, not even 10.No one here has done Salvage have they? Try 300-400 runs to obtain a lv15 piece...rofl. Oh and having to get imperial standing to go...then only being able to once a day 3 times a week!

The more you want it, the less it will drop. That's my motto on rare items. So the less I give a "fudge" about an item, the better chance it will drop.
I'm on the fence, but I'm leaning more toward leave the drop rate as a tough thing. As was previously said, maybe not everyone is meant to have everything. Maybe not everyone is meant to have everything "right now". I'll never have half the stuff I want in this game and that's just the way it is, despite my best efforts.
That being said...
You know I really liked the Assault and Nyzul Isle system in FFXI.
Assault you save up points and buy what you want. No random tokens taking up inventory space. No terrible drop rates. Just do a run, save your points, and buy your cool stuff.
Nyzul still had to deal with the drop rates, but at least you were working on multiple things at once. (Flooring up, Getting drops off bosses, looking for your mystic weapons off NMs, and the off-chance that a ??? drop off an NM would turn into something cool.)
We need more of this kind of content. Where you can do multiple things at once in the same dungeon or you just get points to buy stuff from the companies for special currency obtainable thru content.
My boyfriends did! Sorry no exaggeration~ Took him over 1 and a half year of doing full runs! <3 For Usukane bodyyyy nom nom oh also his "group" was not gimp by any means...lot of people knew Khai on Lakshmi, had an elite LS! ^___^
