mah, after camping Vivian with friend in FFXI, I'm not gonna complain about DL drop now... not saying it's not low, it's just... not Vivian.

Zenaku, There are some key differences between this situation and that of ffxi (dearth of content aside). The first being that the abhorrent drop rates were on the HNMs, and this was open world content (some people were able to obtain these drops by paying linkshell's for the them, not saying this is good or bad, but it was an alternative method of attaining the items nonetheless). Also, not all end game followed this pattern, content such as sky had much more reasonable drop rates (though time sinks were still present with farming pop items etc, but these could also be purchased if desired).
As it stands, each "end game" content released has this same abysmal drop rate system. Perhaps time sinks need be present, but must they always be applied to the drop rate system? >.<
I personally don't have much a beef with drop rate, as my previous post suggested. But, to suggest that a better LS is a solution is not all that responsible.
We have like 7-8 pieces so far though no luck on bodies yet.

Ok,
The Drop rate on Darklight is stupid.
Personally, I have run all the Dungeons countless times, with ZERO Darklight to show for my efforts. Look, it might be better than it was in XI...but you have to remember that XI is a ten year old game. For me to have NO Darklight of my own after a year of running dungeons, obtaining my Relic, and completing ALL content in the game - is 100% absurd.
People in 2.0 will not have the patience, or stand for this type of loot system. There are too many other game choices out there, and they will leave in droves. SE must go to a token system, or dramatically increase the drop rate in hard-mode dungeons. If not, they will bleed players at an astounding rate.
Remember that right now, the only people playing the game are truely dedicated players and fans of SE. What happened when they started charging for the game...it was an exodus to say the least. SE can expect the same behavior if they continue these drop rates in 2.0.
Final Fantasy XI's drop rates were dismal.
Final Fantasy XIV's drop rates are dismal.
Reward people for their efforts, or you are doomed.

They should improve darklight gear stats to be better, then worry about the drop rate.Ok,

That gear is absolute crap for black mage, therefore why should I care if it takes a long time to get it? I mean even if it was good I would rather do an event quite a bit before getting it. Otherwise I would have no reason to play if everyone got what the want immediately. Which is why in FFXI I wanted my items last.
we~~~~~~~~~~~ just did 10x 5 chest run in a row, 0/50

Hello,
Please keep in mind:
-- You do not need to do the DH2/CC run 50 times a day, every day. You can do it a few times. Then go do something else.
-- You do not need to get the pretty items as soon as possible (day0/1/2). They will be around for a while, so take your time.
-- If you loose the fun in something, go do something else for fun. No one is forcing you to do this one specific activity non stop.
At the end of the day, it is for you to find ways to enjoy the world you are presented. You can not always have your hand held and guided to what to do for fun.
As for the drop rate... no one said that everyone should get everything and get it right away. Perhaps it makes sense in this world that some things are just.. rare... Not meant for all to get and collect, but as a nice suprising gift should it occur.
Perspective.. if you get it.. you get it.. if you don't.. should be no biggie.
