I typically partner whichever DPS has the highest HP (While accounting for the lower HP of casters) as better gear means a higher chance of good DPS.
As this person mentioned this is the metric I follow, but normally B rarely happens because I am always in queue with a friend be it a tank or healer--we alternate between each role-- so if my friend is healing and I am on my dnc I will put my dance on my friend even if they are a healer. I am a simple lala, friends before anyone else. Unless it is a raid then that is a different situation.
Most annoying case: it's "that" DF couple and she puts it on the tank because he's her boo![]()

I like innocent ignorance over Closed Position though. Queued into the Vault yesterday and the SAM immediately asked to be partnered lmao.
"I would love to, but Im literally synced 2 levels away from having access to it."
I was honestly expecting Closed Position to be one of the first skills DNC gets considering how early Standard Step is acquired.

I guess from a balance point of view they thought it would have been a bit overpowered to supply dancer with the strongest AOE in the game, and thereby making them the strongest job period from 15-50, and at the same time provide another DPS/job with a static 5% increase to their damage every 30s.
