FFXIV/WOW cross over event?

I don't like the look of WoW game characters it is why I never bothered to try the game. I prefer the Asian game character aesthetics of doll-like looks. I have a weeb-like sense of beauty.

I prefer to keep the cross over events related to Asian games if possible. Not to mention license issues would be easier to deal with if they kept it within Japanese games.

Everything in the game your character can do is potentially canon in that that is is something that they could potentially experience. They are things that could potentially happen in the world and could potentially be part of the rich history of the world. There is more to any world than a single story line

Potentially canon is not canon. Canon is what the storywriters have to take account of when they make new stories moving forward. Any crossover event with WoW is not something the storywriters going to have to take account of in future story unless the collaboration is at the level of Nier's.

After the Hong Kong Blizzard Ordeal; why would SE dirty their name with Blizzard? I mean, they're like a 3-4 hour plane ride from China, To close to the drama and to much to lose to do anything except nothing.

Not that I'm disagreeing that right now isn't that great of a time anymore but what's the distance have to do with it? I'm not sure if that means much on the international stage so it's a sincere question, don't read sarcasm lol. If anything I was thinking it would make more sense for a Japanese company to thumb their nose at China , not that it would be particularly SE since they've already invested FFXIV into China but in a general sense "company x nation y" due to rocky relations of that area.

Before a cross over would be cute, weird, and mostly a romantic relation between devs (Yoshida visits WoW devs / vice versa) but at this point its like "don't touch the fire, it's contagious" XD.

Potentially canon is a bit vague as it were, but Hildebrand is cannon. If you choose not to do that quest line, then its whatever, but if you do, it is a 'canon' event from what I understand. Cross over events are a little more complicated though. Most are meta cross overs that cant function within FFXIV. Like Monster Hunter World Cross Over wouldnt be 'canon' to the lore simple because its more meta than lets say the Nier raids, which will more or less be crafted in such a fashion to make them a 'logical' part of the FFXIV story.

Distance aside, Im 100% sure top brass at SE has already sent company wide emails telling devs and workers to under no circumstances comment on the situation in HK due to business reasons. I dont blame em either - looking at a lot of the american companies starting to get a huge load of flak for censoring anything that might be related to the HK protests is probably making it worthwhile to comment on it. Not that the situation with companies like Blizzard isnt warrented though.

Hildibrand is not a crossover event, so there's no reason to think it's not canon unless otherwise stated. The opposite is true when it's a collaboration with another game (or anything not original to FFXIV where they point out it's a collaboration). Unless they make it a big deal like the Nier collaboration, then there's no reason to think it's canon unless otherwise stated.

I was saying potential canon is not canon in the way that MsQi used the term to mean anything you can do in the game.

Sorry for delay work has been blowing up. "Distance" as in business. Even if we only get their glamours in limited numbers after a long time, I'd hate to see a reason for that to slow down.
