This is probably the one it would be filed under:
■Misuse of flaws
"Misuse of flaws" refers to the deliberate exploitation of a fault in Final Fantasy XIV, or manipulating a feature of Final Fantasy XIV so that it does not function as intended, in order to obtain personal gain or cause disadvantage to someone else.
But there is no personal gain or disadvantage to someone else. They CAN do it if they wanted to. They can also not do it if they don't want to. To do the skip is as simple as counting 1,2,3. It's not some ground breaking bug.
It's clear you just want someone to validate your rule breaking here, but there is personal gain in the form of time, so the rule absolutely does apply. If they wanted people to be able to skip it, they would still let people skip it as they did before.
You gain time. A way you can gain time without exploiting poor game mechanics would be to not do the MS Roulette.
It's against the TOS. You can do it if you want but you risk getting banned. It's pretty simple. You don't have to like it just like you can elect not to do the roulette if you find it to be a real problem for you.
I'm NOT going to be doing this because I don't want to risk my account. I still would like to have heard the words from the houses mouth because it would be really nice to skip something so boring to have to sit though, it feels like a punishment having to sit though the 55 minutes of cutscenes. I sent a report to a GM in game 30 minutes ago to try and get a response but as I figured, no one messaged me back, leaving me in the dark.
If I learned anything from this, it's that most people respond to me with black and white response while others had been more nicely spoken and respected my debate and for that I thank you. I'm leaving this post now, maybe check in on it a few days in hopes a GM messages but I'm not going to hold my breath, they don't seem to care that much about my question and a possible fix for it if this is indeed a problem. The easy fix would be to do what they do with the other cut scenes, with out going into details on how what is done in order to skip MSQ CS.
You won't hear from a GM from within the game on the forums. They don't work on here. You MIGHT hear from a form GM or a Community Rep, but most likely you won't. You could ask a GM inside the game, but they will probably tell you it against ToS as well because it is. I know you don't want to hear that. I know there are other things in the game that break ToS and that bothers me as well. As for Black & White, it is Black & White, you break ToS you risk suspension or a ban. Do a lot of people get away with it? Yes, they do. A lot of other people do not and have received suspensions or bans. I'm not saying these things are right and neither is anyone else here (I don't think) nor is anyone White Knighting. They are simply telling you it is against ToS and anyone who uses the exploit to skip the cutscenes in the MSQ are risking their accounts.I'm NOT going to be doing this because I don't want to risk my account.
