    Passwords continually NOT working

I'm getting so tired of having to change passwords in this game. Never had this problem with my other game! I have my PW written down so it should be correct, but keep getting told it's not. Would have been fine until I opened up the companion app, should have left the crap closed!

Don't you save your passwords using auto-fill forms or the tick box on the launcher? Then all you would need is the one-time password (that's if you use one) which can also be copy and pasted. You'd probably want to contact SE through support though, not a lot they can do for you here.

I've had the same password for 6 years, so I don't know what to tell you man. The only thing that changes is the one-time password for 2-factor auth.

That's...literally on your side. The only ways a password can be wrong is if you changed it and didn't remember changing it, someone got ahold of your account and changed it, or you simply just typed it wrong. Have you tried typing your new password in a random file/location on your computer, and then just copy/pasting it when you log in?

The tick box doesn't save your password... it's been a gripe for many players for as long as I can remember...

And honestly it shouldn't. That's a terrible security hole.

    It does on PS4 since 5.0 ^^

However, I heared of OP's problem before, and it came out that that person was filling in an one time password without having an one time password registered.

Other problems are when you log in from different devices, wich changes your IP and SE forces you to change your password because of security (doesn't happen when you have an one time password registered).

Maybe it is because you're IP is changing everyday. Usually, when FFXIV server detects too much logins form different IP it assumes someone is trying to steal the account and locks it, sending an email to change the password. I had this problems long ago when my IPS decides to change my IP every fucking day.

It's actually a bigger hole when things don't save passwords. It's the main reason people choose such easy to guess passwords quick and easy to enter. Where if passwords were saved they'd likely use stronger more secure ones.

This is a thing yes, if you use a keyboard you could be typing it wrong and not even know you're doing it. If you're using a mechanical keyboard some can come with less then great cheap switches that wear out fast. I went though two Corsaire keyboards in a year due to cheap switches. They got worn and started ghosting inputs of frequently used keys. Like I would press the T or R or other keys once and suddenly "tttt" or "rr" would be entered. Try doing a keyboard test. Open up a notepad file and test all the keys and see if you get any multiple inputs or no inputs at all.
