Level 5 Hrothgar gladiator in Ul'dah looking for quests to level up quickly

    Hello,

I'm new to Final Fantasy in general, and am looking for ways to level up fast so I can join a Free Company. I reached out to the Gladiators' Guild, but long story short I want other quests to complete that won't smite me after two seconds.

Any suggestions? Just quests in this place for Levels 5-15, thanks.

do the side quests in Ul'dah, also do your hunt log for gladiator. And just do the main story quests, between those, you should level really quickly.

    Welcome to Eorzea!

Quests should become available as you level - also, completing specific quests will usually unlock new side quests as you go along (main scenario quests especially, these are identified by a special Meteor icon instead of the exclamation mark symbol of normal sidequests). Also, keep going back to the GLA's Guild as every 5 levels they will have a new class quest for you - the level 10 one especially unlocks the Armoury System proper and completing it will allow you to go to the other class Guilds and unlock other classes if you so desire.

But really, keep doing the main scenario quests as it will continously open up new sidequests, along with new ways of levelling.

No matter what, you'll want to work on your main scenario quest. EVERYTHING is unlocked through it, and if you ever see someone say "You must be level X to do this" it often also includes "...and have done the MSQ up to that level." By all means do all the sidequests you wish, but if you're higher level than your MSQ it won't help you much. I will say sidequests can be a nice way to earn gear, and staying on top of your gear is a good way to ensure quests don't wreck you

Main Scenario Quests are, as already mentioned, the top priority. You'll also get class quests every five levels, which are also important. Sidequests with a plus sign in the corner of the icon unlock something, so may be important if what they unlock is something you care about.

Other, regular, sidequests can offer pretty decent XP if they're done on-level, but if you come across sidequests when you're already several levels above them, their XP will be negligible as it won't scale to your level. Some people like to do all quests as they find them anyway, either for completeness or because you sometimes pick up a bit of extra background lore, but their practical benefit is pretty low unless they're done on-level. (One popular pattern is to skip regular sidequests --or most of them-- initially, while going through the story, and if you go back to level up additional classes later, do the sidequests then.)
