Never got MRD hunting log. :c

So on one of my characters I bought the Tales of Adventure: Stormblood and Tales of Adventure: One Machinist's Journey II right out the gate. That gave me MCH 70, and I also leveled GNB to 70.

However, when I went to level WAR, and started as a MRD, I never got the Hunting Log for that class. I'm aware MCH and GNB have no hunting log. But MRD should, right?

I have a level 10 MRD now, having gone through the class quests up to 10 as well, but no hunting log. If I remember correctly from other characters, I think you should get it at the level 5 class quest for that class?

Not sure if the "Tales of" things screwed something over or what. I tried messaging a GM about it in-game, but they said they can't help with that sort of thing and redirected me here to the forums.

Please help, I am confusion. :c

You have to do the initial MRD class quest first and then you get the Hlogs unlocked.

Close! I found out what it was. When I first made the character, I chose GLA, which remained abandoned at level 1 as I palled around with my GNB, MCH, and MRD/WAR. Only until I got GLA to level 5 and completed the first GLA quest did I unlock the Hunting Log for all available classes. In short, I'm dumb.

Yeah, the class-less Tales items tends to make things screwy. The game expects you to be unable to change from your initial class until you've leveled and unlocked the option. I'm pretty sure that if you were to have chosen a job that had a base class, the hunting log might've probably unlocked, due to how it'll level that ARR job. But, any of the others will skip past some of the unlocks that it'll think you should've been forced through.
