    Optional items on the wrong character

    Greetings! New player on FFXIV but avid fan & player of the FF series here!

    As of this topic, the case has progressed from Support Center to the In-game Support team (GMs).

    Summary of the case goes like this:
    • I'd bought items intended for Character "A" on Mateus but selected Character "A" on Diabolos instead
    • Approached Support Center for assistance in regards to the matter. (Was assisted by Agent Mathias which did a great job IMO!)
    • Case was then brought up to the In-game GM team. Been told to discard the items on topic. Which I did.
    • GM team gave a prompt reply stating that they'll check & confirm for the discarded items and will transfer the items onto the intended character (of the same IGN on a different World)


    Feedback section
    I do not want to sound or seem ungrateful but to shed some light on the case, I'd like to point out that although it was my own mistake to purchase items on the wrong character, the process of rectifying this mistake by transferring item(s) to the intended character, could be expedited (or at least, it sure feels that way).

    Just an idea but expedited by maybe merging the two different teams of Support Center & GM teams into one to expedite processes such as this. Would also (probably) reduce manpower costs. I won't go into specifics as this is just conjecture.

    It has been approximately 48hours (on weekdays) since I've done what the Support and GM team have required me to do (drop/ discard the items on topic) but I've yet to receive my items from the Delivery Moogle..

    Again, I'd like to thank and commend the teams for their prompt response BUT the process is pretty disappointing... As I believe there was no time frame given to expect when the case would be rectified.

    Everything should just be account wide, then this wouldn't even be a potential issue.

    You are complaining that they are not fast enough for you? If you actually slowed down and had the items sent to the proper character this wouldn't even be an issue.

    Wow...The support isn't the greatest in this game
    but the one time they actually helped, you're upset
    because they aren't sending the items fast enough?
    Lucky they even let you do that instead of flipping you off
    like they do most of the time lol. Also just might've used your
    "one time" roll back thingy. Just be patient.

    I also agree with the account wide thing.

    I don't feel like the OP is upset. In fact, they praise the whole process a few times and purposefully admit that the mistake was theirs alone. The only criticism is something that seems fairly valid to me, having Support Center and GMs be merged in some way so as to be expedited and even potentially reduce manhours. I know when I had a question regarding my pre-order of ShB (which despite being billed for FOUR TIMES, I hadn't gotten a code while everyone else had), I found out that a lot of the support services are not actually connected to one another. Contacting the support store had me being told to contact the mogstation support, or some such thing, and that it could only be done via e-mail and e-mail might take up to a week before they'd reply (and this was 2 weeks before ShB early access). There definitely could be better optimization of support teams and I think that's the main point OP is trying to make, and that the delay in receiving the items may be related to the disconnected way the two teams work.

    Yes, the initial mistake was hers, but we're all human and we're all prone to mistakes.

    Support is especially slow in 14. Other games you can chat with someone pretty quickly or at least get a next-day response.

    Took 10 days to get back to me about a software token issue. (Stopped playing years ago, couldn't access the token anymore, etc.) I just bought a new account after a week.

    That said, I sympathize with OP. It is slow and could be much better. I have no doubt these people work hard. I just think there aren't enough of them.

    In regards to the latter, as per my initial post, I do agree that it was my own mistake to purchase it on a wrong character (with the same name but on a different World).
    However, we're all human. We make mistakes especially if the whole thing is foreign or unfamiliar to me (us).
    I can sympathize with your thoughts but I hope u can see it from the victim's POV as well.

    Yes but not all mistakes will get a second chance. Sometimes you will just have to eat the dirt and learn from the mistake
