Hello,

I would like to suggest setting up a pin system for Free Company chests, with the intent of adding an additional layer of security. An incident just happened to the FC that I'm the guild master of and I would hate to see others come to meet with the same misfortune we just had.

Recently one of my top ranking officers fell for the Twitch phishing scam that's been menacing their services. His account was compromised and lo and behold, the scammer logged in as his character (bypassing his 2FA even), removed all of the gil from our Free Company chest and presumably mailed it off to one of his other accounts to be sold off as RMT.

Both myself and the victim of the scam had submitted tickets about the incident. While my FC member was able to get his character rolled back to recover his personal funds, sadly it seems like GMs are unable to recover our FC funds. Because GMs are unable to recover items taken from FC chests, there needs to be some added security placed on them. I think a pin system on top of the existing rank settings would help out with incidents such as these. I would like to think the FC chest is somewhat like a safe for the company, so shouldn't it have the features of an actual safe? Would something like the password system from forming a private party work in similar fashion?

Yes, I'm aware that SE themselves made a post regarding the scams, and I'm aware that there are currently settings available for the FC ranks to control who does and doesn't have access to various parts of the FC chest. Despite all of that, stuff like this can still happen. The scammer just got extremely lucky and got a hold of an account that had access to the massive amounts of gil we had stored up.

Help us protect our hard earned gil and items!
