It can be level or MSQ. Perhaps unlocking a job. It should be within the reach of free trial characters.

I'm thinking at a minimum when you join a GC. Maybe that dancing for Sylphs one that is already an unlock.

But OMFG Limsa lower decks is a gilspammer paradise in NA prime time.

I don't think they are transferring from server to server. The gilseller bots are made, spam a bit, deleted, and a new one made.

Blocking world transfer only benefits whatever 4 or 5 worlds are designated as congested so new spambots can't be created. It's still going to be a problem on every other world.

I come across just as many spambots in Ul'dah and Gridania as I do in Limsa.

The problem will never go away as long as players are willing to pay real money to get gil, raid carries, etc. Better just to learn to tune it out, or at least spend as little time as possible in the areas where they tend to congregate.

All thanks to world visit which can use at level 1 right after you start. I know some mmo's you can't use shout or chat till your higher level.
