Haven't played dancer so this is pure speculation, but maybe strategic glamour could help? The animations are what they are, but idk if packaging them differently can offer different impressions. Imo if you manage to tie in a bright green and black that could unify with the peacock feathers/fan animations, and if the glamour style is more masculine it might read a little differently. Depends on what you're going for.
That said I would've loved to see more variety in dance options.
It's not to bad on male lalas cause we already kinda have the adorable looks to make you not cringe when seeing us as a DNC but I crack up laughing when I see other male races doing those dances, it's hilarious like that songbird dance emote.
Some of the annimations remind me of a bowler for some reason so it's not as womanly as I thought it would be but if I wasn't a lala I probably wouldn't play it, probably just lvl it and drop it, I to wish we had some hip hop dances cause that would look cool.
People already pointed out Monk. We straight up thought Lyse was a dancer, surprise she's a Monk, with heavy movement as you wish.
They exploited the "heavy" and "violent" side with Monk. Dancer is meant to be gracious and light, which is the other end of the spectrum.
Monk is what you want, if it doesn't satisfy you, what can we advice to you? The only answer would be to wait for a third job imitating a sort of dance.
SE won't make the Dancer breakdancing or heavier move or that would simply be a ranged Monk.
Light, Gracious, Supportive =/= Feminity
Heavy, Rough, Violent =/= Masculinity
If only there was a male option that wasn't heavy, rough, or violent that also wasn't lalafel, since females at least have roegadyns if they want to be heavy, rough, and violent. In addition to lalafels. Okay, it's not a very good joke, but more options is more better, and I'd like to see a feminine male model in the game.
I love FFXI dancer so much, can't say the same for FFXIV dancer
One more thought on this subject.
Honestly, there have been character customization games where as a chick I just wanted to put my character in a glammed out dress. Option wasn't there. Doesn't mean what existed was bad, but it was a bummer for me not to be able to explore that option when NPCs would run around in that sort of thing.
For me, Dancer as it is reads reminiscent of Flamenco in some ways. Not inherently feminine by any means, but if OP is more along the lines of breakdancing or ex. Georgian battle dancing, I can get how there's a different vibe.
But that's part of why I gave the advice I did with glamour. It's all part of the presentation, and if you get certain moves with say a muscle shirt, Nezha shorts, and boots it's going to read differently.
Idk. In the end figure the best route atm is to see what tools you have at your disposal in-game and use them to get as close as you can to the vibe you want. Might mean going monk, might just mean using glamours. Hope you find a solution that works for you dude.

Unfortunately, Dancer is one of those where no one can be really happy with when it comes to the feminine or masculine dances. It may be a technical limitation, where they would have to load BOTH sets of dances if they gave us manly dances and feminine dances. Or maybe they are simply playing it safe and trying to keep anyone from complaining about how its sexist either way lol.
That said, my own wish is that they would have a variety of dances from one end of the spectrum to another and let us choose how manly/feminine we wanted our dancers to be. More customization is always the best option to me.
Well, to each their own, but I think FFXIV DNC is great: flows well and has an amazing aesthetic and style. I feel like the job was literally made for me. Just give it some potency boosts and it’s perfect.
