I think they did that to encourage people to play premade with their friends. You couldnt premade Feast training before and now they added the possibility to duo queue

They already did, you cannot queue with three full alliances together.
smh

Far easier to co-ordinate 7 others as opposed to 23, if you could have 24 man premades that'd just be a bit extreme, even in a 8/8 premade though you can still lose some if the other teams play smart
Cool thanks for the warning

I mean really...this is what's wrong with the FFXIV community. Literally NO competitive spirit.
You're getting your ass kicked? Get good, make some friends and get good together, now you have yourself a group of friends to do FL with.
PvP is actually pretty good in FFXIV - the community and its lack of competitive spirit, as shown time and time again here, is the biggest issue and I blame SE for this. They are constantly trying to dumb things down in PvE and PvP so that people won't get their feelings hurt.
My main question is if you're not having a fun time, then why don't you ask them if they have room?
You act like the veteran PvP players enjoy roflstomping noobs just because they are noobs. That's not the case. It's actually quite fun to play with friends in FL because of the funny stuff that happens. Maybe they are working towards their ADS mounts? You don't know their intentions, so don't assume the worst. We're not as toxic as most of the fan base has been led to believe.
Next time this happens, maybe try asking them if they have room. It's highly unlikely that they would tell you no just for being new. You might even make some new friends and could possibly even learn to be better at PvP(If that's something you are interested in).

The irony being that posts like these are the culprit of negativity in the community and not those who provide resources for individuals to mitigate "being farmed" due to lack of knowledge or practice. But hey, it's the fault of those who actively play and not those who actively complain. My main question is if you're not having a fun time, then why don't you ask them if they have room?

It's already been proven that all of the 'toxicity' in the PvP community actually comes from all of the new people being toxic to each other. The last few seasons proved it because we had a surge of new players coming in. You know who was the most toxic with the DMs and the pings? It was the new people. I even had some rando after a ranked match tell me to 'have fun permanently being in low silver, because there's no way I would get better.' Meanwhile I promoted to gold the next match, and I've been top 100 multiple times, consistently at least get plat for each season. It comes from general ignorant practices of SE.The irony being that posts like these are the culprit of negativity in the community and not those who provide resources for individuals to mitigate "being farmed" due to lack of knowledge or practice. We now play in a game where 'Unadvertised constructive criticism' is considered toxic.(Both in PvE and PvP modes). SE has only fostered these kinds of players that can't take being told that what they are doing wrong only to improve. Hence the "You don't pay my sub" attitude. This is simply now a fact of playing in this game with this community. There are PvP discords created/operated solely with the purpose of helping new players who want to learn to be better and excel. We even have mentors for every role/class for technical questions. But it's up to the new people who are complaining to actually take the initiative to join, learn and TAKE constructive criticism.
I'm not saying we DON'T have toxic people and the problems they bring with them, but for the majority of the community, we all just wanna have a good time.

This. Doing shit like 8 WHM games are a absolute blastMy main question is if you're not having a fun time, then why don't you ask them if they have room?

lol, how can you call showing competitive spirit farming newbies in a premade xD ?! just say you want to win easily lol.
Meh, happens to a disadvantage too. I play on the JP data center and we have a group that does this. They usually end up on the losing team because they’re too busy farming early points on “n00bs” then camping a certain area while the rest of the team is crushed by the combined might of the other two factions in late game when they had a lead (so each death nets more points for the other 2 teams).
this ,if premades are proof of anything is the abysmal level of randomers on eu and na servers.
