    5.0 Dark knight request: Delirium rework

    Dear Yoship and Dev combat team:

    First of all i want to thank all of you for all the effort you put on FFXIV and his future.

    Today i have a request i want to become true, like the tittle say is a request of a full rework of the Dark knight skill Delirium. If you let me i will explain the situation and the current problem this current desing represents.

    As you all know 5.0 Delirium rework is by far one of the most unpopular choices of this expansion, the skill have a wide variety of opinions from "i don't mind the current desing but is boring specially compared to inner release" to "i literally hate this rework, it's a Warrior mechanic and make Dark knight feels like you are playing WAR and if i want to play WAR i pick WAR.", im saddly one of the second one.

    Currently both DRK and WAR have a extrelmly similar GCD and gauge structure making both jobs being simillar in some basic desing but the similarity it's greatly enchanced by the new Delirium affecting the gameplay feeling of the job to a point i don't wanna play DRK anymore because it's to similar to WAR and the other skills the job have do literally nothing to appease this feeling.

    As a Dark knight fan and main since the job was released back on Heavensward, 4 years until 5.0, i request to you to make this rework to restore the unique gameplay feeling the job should have and make clear the gameplay diferences betwen DRK and WAR now blurry thanks to this ¿that's the reason we keep getting new jobs right? ¿to have new unique ways to play the role we love? now the tank role have 3 tanks that have this -use the buff and spam the same skill 5 times in a row (PLD having confietor as finisher but esentially the same)- this is hurting tank gameplay diversity in some degree specially for WAR and DRK leaving Gunbreaker as my only choice aviable.

    -Request: Rework Delirium to something unique that no other job have that fit the job theme (please no more spam the same skill several times in a row) and if is posible address the "slow" feeling of the job in the procces.

    Please consider this request for 5.2 (if there is no adjustment on 5.1) and i appreciate a official response if possible to this matter.

    Update: Hi everyone, thanks to reddit feedback feel free to post your ideas about how Delirium should be reworked to give the Dev team more solid feedback about how to handle the rework, the main request of this post will remain neutral, thanks for you support.

    5.2 live letter update:

    well ppl as i fully expected DRK has been complety ignored from the live letter, not a single mention about the job even with this thread requesting a rework and at minimun a mention on the live letter, there is no hope for shadowbringers DRK.

    Dear Yoshi-p, i want to let you know how frustrating is our feedback being complety ignored after months gathering support to make the job we love better and more fun/playable for the ones that spend years having fun with it before shadowbringers, i ask you to have more respect for us the veterans of the job in the future and want to make you understand that being ignored lead to a great frustation and unnecesary hostility specially on big request like this one. this request will remain the entire expansion if it have to, thanks and have a nice day.

    DRK has been a fast paced Job the previous 2 expansions, thats why people feel it should be fast

    DRK was a fast paced job since it’s inception during HW. It’s only two expansions later that Square has now decided that “big sword go slow” which is why it’s bothering a lot of people. Additionally it doesn’t really feel all that powerful either, our animations don’t really feel all that impactful.

    I would also like to add that I don’t think it’s ridiculous for someone in FF14 to swing around a big sword quickly, it’s typically a problem in media that has huge sword (Cloud for instance).

    I agree with your comment about the animations, in particular I dislike the bloodspiller animation, like you said it doesn't feel impactful and having to use it 5 times in a row was just a bad idea, it works for fel cleave, not bloodspiller.

    tbf, i started in Shadowbringers and i'm also feeling it's insanely slow.

    When i play my paladin, i not only deal more damage, have more options and things to do while with DRK i'm literraly just spamming 1-2-3 and bloodspillers sometimes and the occasionnal TBN which is the only great thing about it.

    I love drk by its lore and design but i don't see why is there a reason that DRK is weaker in damage, slow and have some spells that are just bad on a long cooldown.

    Delirium has 90 sec cd....just for spamming a spell that is okay but the whole cd is just a worse Inner release.Salted earth is the second cooldown that is just....

    Honestly why does this spell exist ?I barely remember to use it because it's so weak.

    Apart of DRK has been much more higher apm on past iterations of the job the current downtimes the job have make it feel it even more slowly that it is.

    I think they will address Dark Mind and Living Dead before they even look at Delirium rework.

    Its utility depends too much on the encounter. Magic busters ? Very good CD. Physical busters only ? Useless CD. This is bad design. Right now they're just tuning fights to make Dark Mind useful, instead they could just make it work on both damage types.
