    Machinisht GRAPHICAL changes i'd love to see.

    Hello everyone. So i finally decided to use FFXIV Forums. Big time boys.

    So i'm a MCH main, and was since Stormblood, they called me a madman. But then again, i'm a casual player, not hardcore raider that cares only about parses, ANYWAY ...
    Okay so the thing i wanna talk about today touches Machinists graphics. Not a big stuff, just a tweaks to some Skills and Abilities i thought would be cool, so i'll try to break them down one-by-one. You ready? Less go kids.

    1) Flamethrower: Now most of the times i forget i do have this, and when i realize i do have it, the dungeon's wave is dead.
    Okay so the change i'd like to see for [HANS, BRING ZE FLAMMENWERFER] is that instead of being blasted out using your main weapon, which does look weird, let's be honest, it could be used using your cool gadget a Drill, Air Anchor, Bio Blaster and Auto Crossbow are being shot off, i don't know if it has any official name yet. It would be cool to see being Flamethrower being attached to this gadget as well. It would propably requite a brand new animation, but it shouldn't be impossible seeing how similarly Bio Blaster works.

    2) Heat Blast: Oh Heat Blast, dear Heat Blast, okay so this Weaponskill is completelly unsatisfying to use. It's bland, has lame sound effect and it's animation in general is underperforming (personal opinions, perhaps there are people that like it). When someone says Heat Blast, my brain imagines a high caliber shot being forced out of the bullet chamber at insane speed. Current Heat Blast is just unsatisfying. Suggested changes: Give it some cool sound effect and tweak it's animation, right now it's just a wannabe Fire IV with some "flhremplh" sound effect. You can do better mates. As for exaples with sounds, look up Gunner of BnS, you gotta love their shooting sounds.

    3) Gauss Round: Same issue as Heat Blast. Unsatisfying to use, on the skill icon you see a badass rifle shooting some cool projectile while in-game is quite literally a tranquilizer dart. If nothing, atleast tweak it's sounds.

    Thank you spending a minute or two reading this. If you have any other suggestions Graphics/Sounds wise. Lemme know, i'm eager to know what do fellow Machinists think!

    I would say MCH has even more "graphical" problems. Whole animation flow is weird, lots of clipping, animations are simply too long for such fast paced job (lots of weaving). Stylish main combo animations and meaty gunshots replaced with unnecessary flips and sounds certainly not resembling gunshots.
    Thats why i hoped they will literally rework it, create it from scratch. Instead they just duct taped it, and we have what we see.
    Is it unplayable? Certainly not. But it's far from perfect.

    Kind of agree that the Stormblood leftover are... Not impressive. Gauss round was a skill available and unique for being instant with the gauss barrel which is not the case anymore.
    It's still a good skill as it is a "fast shot".

    Heat blast was actually good looking during SB but spamming it in ShB simply feels bad and bland, I can only agree while on the contrary, Auto CrossBow is satisfying to spam!

    Flamethrower needs a big overhaul, the skill has absolutely no use in raid, little use against bosses, it doesn't do anything it's just... "here". It's the perfect example of "stormblood leftover", it doesn't defines the rotation, doesn't even define "all" the AoE rotation as you use it against 3 target or don't use it. Back then it was the overheat button but now it's simply the "press if 3+ target and get a coffee, be sure to come back later".

    I've mentioned it many times but I would love to see Flamethrower completely reworked where the Machinist gives up its gun for 10 seconds and use the "Drill/AA/BB/ACB tools" as a real flamethrower, replacing the Slug, Split and Clean shot with new GCDs.

    Overrall I love the Machinist having 2 splitted ressources between the gun and the tools. One is the fast gun, the others is the bigger gun and a big punching can.

    It's funny how it's perfectly okay for every job in the game to have GCDs that are for "trash only" (some jobs even have 3 or more), but when it comes to Flamethrower it's "bad." I hated old Flamethrower in Stormblood. It was only ever used like a real flamethrower in the opener, and the rest of the fight was just "puffing" it for a split second (so gross). It also felt super clunky to use on trash packs because of overheat.

    I personally love new Flamethrower. It's ideal use is now like a real flamethrower because it actually should be held out for max duration to get the most damage. The bit of downtime provided by it is nice, too, since the rest of the time MCH is a max APM demon. Sure, it doesn't see a lot of use in boss fights, but the same can be said for Auto Crossbow, Bio Blaster, and Spread Shot.

    There are instances where FT can be used in raids/boss fights, albeit rarely. Eden's Gate: Resurrection adds, for one, since FT (and Bio Blaster) is more effective than single-target skills at 2+ targets. FT can also be used to fish for a server tick of damage (very minor bonus but still fun) when a boss comes back from being invuln/away. Eden's Gate: Inundation (Savage) is a good example of this after the first Maelstrom. It sounds like "puffing" from SB, but FT actually has to be out for more than a couple seconds so that the GCD finishes "cooling down" by the time the boss reappears.

    In keeping up the Edgar Figaro flavor with MCH, can we get Chainsaw in place of Flamethrower but have it be meaningful?

    Also, if we're going to be spamming Heat Blast and GR, I wish they would be flashier as its easier to prevent myself from missing a GCD when I can see/hear the move go off. Ricochet never has this issue since its very noticeable from my peripheral vision during hectic encounters.

    Personally, I am not a fan of all of the acrobatics that come with the heated shots (Split, Slug & Clean Shot). I would prefer it we used standard firearm shot animations instead.

    I agree with giving us an actual flamethrower instead of the animation we have now and about Heat Blast looking and sounding underwhelming.

    The standard clean shot animation is nice. Would prefer it as our combo starter animation over Heated split shot.

    My main gripe though is that we got Spread shot instead of Grenado shot. Spread shot is a lame little pew pew pew thing, Grenado shot was throwing a grenade into the mobs and shooting it!
