And you do realize that, to use an example already mentioned on this thread, South Americans will still be excluded, even more obviously so on a JP or EU contest, right? This changes nothing in these cases

You do realize that this leaves out a lot of countries, right? They accept payments from them, just won't let them participate in contests. If you are going to enable a MMORPG to a country, do go through the paper work involved in making an event.

Or make the event in game to avoid this all together.
