Regular Windows crashes to black screen when running FFXIV

I'm experiencing a regular complete system crash when running FFXIV.

This started occurring on either Sept 6, 2019 @3:50:41 pm PST or Sept 9, 2019 @ 9:28:26pm PST.
(I have 2 logs before this but they appear too far apart - this is when it became a regular event).

I'm not sure how to prep my system to get a useful log for you for this. Here is my specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core Processor 3.7 GHz
Asus Prime x470-Pro ATX AM4
32GB RAM DDR4-3000
Windows 10 Home
nVidia GeForce RTX 2080 (driver 9/5/2019 26.21.14.3630)

In Windows 10,
Control Panel -> Power Options - Plan Settings -> advanced ->
PCI Express -> Link State Power Management -> Setting: Off

Windows game Overlay off.
geForce shadowplay not installed.

nVidia control panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Global Settings -> Power management mode -> Prefer maximum performance


Windows Event View doesn't seem to have anything more useful than:

Critical 41:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Error 6008:
The previous system shutdown at 2:27:38 PM on ‎9/‎20/‎2019 was unexpected.

Which is kinda... yeah... I know that.

- and this pair of entries occurs at every error.

This time period might correlate with re-installing 'World of Warcraft'
- the dates on my folders for that app show
launcher: 8/29/2019 7:54pm

_retail_ 9/7/2019 10:20pm

- WoW is NOT crashing for me.

But my first crash log appears in event viewer on 8/17, the second on 8/30, and by 9/9 they are occuring everytime I launch FFXIV, at some point during my play session, if not multiple times.

I installed Black Desert Online at or around 8/18/2019 2:22am if I am to believer folder datestamps - and launched it a total of 2-3 times.

- theory being that one of these game might be corrupting a file common to FFXIV?
